Instead of Psycho Chicken, might I recommend Conquering Clown? I know a lot of people want it, and it was another comedy bot, so you really aren't missing much. Also it had more success (made the final of Series 2).
edit: Scrap has the right idea here.

I was thinking of a crap robot that you can gradually rip pieces off, in a similar manner to what Hypnodisc did to Ming and Razer did to Milly-Ann Bug. Something that looks daft but with large exposed wheels and fragile parts to pluck off. I could do Conquering Clown as well mind if you all like it so much.
Right, over the past couple of weeks I havent really had time to crack on with RA2 stuff. I had a bash at Mighty Mouse, the shell I made failed to export so I tried fitting the parts I made to Whams Roaming Robots AI Replica to see if can do the job. As you will see in the screenshot below, it doesnt look that good so I'm afraid that I'll have to put it on hold. I think for the mean time It might be better if i just cracked on with finishing Mega Morg, so look out for that in the next few days.
After my dissatisfaction with Mighty Mouse, i decided to have a crack at arena skinning. As some of you will noticed I did a slight recolour to the Robot Wars arena to bring some life into it... It was okay but not satisfying enough so to imitate the arena lighting, appropriately size the drop zone and improve the look of the crowd... I did this.
As good as it is, it would be much better If i could get spot lights working to compliment it.
Anyway, I then replaced the low quality DSL Spin Arena skin with the Siberian Military base floor from RW ED with a few additions and alterations.
And lastly I did a bit of tweaking to the brilliant Raw2 arena using the skin from the RW AOD Oil Rig Arena.

why's spawn again not goibg to be an AI? :o
Well I didn't think it would be worth throwing in as its just going to be boring to battle. a large angled wedge with an oversized flipper that will be hard to get a hold of and get underneath. I guess I can always see what I can do.
Hope you like these. I'll have more stuff on the way soon in the form of Replicas.

nice!
I asked about spotlights years ago and the answer was that the best solution would be a custom component

Cheers lads! I didn't expect such good feedback for a bit of skinning. Mouldy King, I'm not too fond of cookies but if you have a keg of ale, ill gladly have that!
I would still like to get the Series 3 and Magazine arenas from page 1 of this topic into the game if possible. I know the Series 3 arena will be very popular in particular for its simplicity, its low arena walls & nostalgia.
Sorry guys, I haven't been able to do much lately but I can show you this... If you look back to previous pages of this thread you will see the first render of Mega Morg, now obviously this was a very long time ago and since the picture was posted, the 3d model has been tweaked and changed to represent the Series 7 version and now finally (unless I can find something else to tweak) Mega Morg is finished.
Now should I finally try getting the arenas into the game or just admit defeat before attempting and get back to the replica list?

If it is thrown sideways then oh yes
Although if it gets flipped from the front or rear then you'll get a repeat of its battle against Robochicken.

helloface99, there isnt that many replicas left that I feel need to be done. I'm going to be having a bash at getting some arenas done and then see if Wham will have the lot as part of the Robot Wars AI pack.
Kaireptilion, keeping up with good work is harder than it seems. I think that there is a specific reason why no-one has attempted Tough as Nails before. The wheel motors are attached to the claws as per the real thing which makes the robot hard to control, the claws are pretty much unskinnable and as you can see in this test shot, I made the claws far too large!
Also here is proof that when I make clawed replicas, they actually do their job. Kan-Opener, like Jawbreaker is able to wedge robots between the jaws and drag them around to an arena hazard or the pit in particular.
I'll try and get TAN sorted tonight but I think the outcome will have a standard metal texture with the holes absent. So by the looks of things TAN will be in the Robot Designs section of the pack with Xterminator for its lack of skin.
