Hey guys :)
Well, i've decided to make a start on a new Robot Wars arena :P (I've managed to 90% perfect the ase to gmf convert method, so I thought i'd give this a try! :3)
Here is the new mesh at the moment,
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/16727rwarena1.jpg)
So, as you can see, so far most of the textures are sorted out, main floor is done, pit and floor flipper done, and the new tire :P
The skins are from the RW:ED game arena (I found the thread :P)
The 2 Dantomkia's are also my reference bots :P (They are roughly the same size as an ordinary DSL heavy)
Once the arena mesh is finished, then i'll give a try at turning it into a full arena :P (Which is kinda why I started this thread... incase I run into any difficulty xD)
If anyone wants to try having a go at converting it then feel free to ask for the mesh! I feel more confident at meshing and skinning than all that techinical .py and gmf stuff haha :')
Anyway, opinions and feedback? :)

Very nice work so far. It always bugged me how in the Robot Wars arena we had the flipper was a flat face, this'll be quite different!
-
Nice, I think this will be helpful for once Jonzu decides to do another Robot Wars competition. Resetti could use it too.
-
First of: Good job!
I`m so used to the one we`ve got that this one looks mirrored.
are you sure the dropzone is that close to the pit? and does the pit decend slowly like the real one?
Will you post this Dantomkia with your other replicas like you said in ptwr? (and will you release it in another AI pack?)
-
Thanks guys :)
And haha the original is acctually mirrored :P Which is something that's always annoyed me, so was one of the reasons for working on this :P
And i'm still trying to fix the little bugs with it atm, once its done though i'll hopefully release it :P
-
I was talking to trov a long time ago about making an arena simmilar to the one of RW but I don`t have the skills knowledge and time. did you read the other stuff I wrote?
-
Fair enough. I'm not at like Trov or Mad level, but I'm somewhat ok :P And dont think so...
-
I meant the stuff about the pit and the drop zone :P cause I edited that post a few minutes after I posted it
-
ohh :P
I dont think it is, it's just the skin from the RW:ED arena. It can be changed easily :P And not at the moment as it is just a mesh xD But hopefully once I get round to editing it all it will do :) (With pit siren aswell :P)
-
Looking forward to it. hope everything goes as planed
-
Thanks :P So do I xD
-
Excellent work! Great textures too!
-
WHAM I LOVE YOU
-
I love you more, Wham'...
-
I love you more, Wham'...
I LOVE THE MOST
-
Sonny's Inane Request Time:
-Can you make a version where the floor flipper and dropzone are turned off, but all the other hazards work normally?
-Is the pit small enough to only fit 1 large robot at a time?
-Can you make the starting points be the edges and not the corners?
I'd love you forever if you could do those things.
-
-Sure ;)
-Yes
-Was going to do anyway :P
-
Awesome, you're the best
-
Hehe thanks, but i'm hardly that good yet :')
Have an arena backwall :P
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/99937rwarena2.jpg)
A few of the textures need to be improved, but that can be done at a later date :)
And while i'm at it - have some angle grinders aswell :P
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/87088rwarena3.jpg)
It's getting there slowly but surely! :3
-
Dat back wall <3
-
Glad you came back, it's just been awesome stuff after awesome stuff. Keep it up!!
-
This is looking amazing, after its complete and you move into all the little details,I wonder if you could find a way to get the "3..2..1 ACTIVATE!" at the beginning at the "CEASE!" at the end of the fights.
-
This is looking amazing, after its complete and you move into all the little details,I wonder if you could find a way to get the "3..2..1 ACTIVATE!" at the beginning at the "CEASE!" at the end of the fights.
That's pretty easy...if you have a voice to record or some kind of voice sample which can read text.
-
The "cease" is easy enough, just replace the announcer's three match end sound files. But the problem with the "321" activate is that the starting countdown is a single beep repeated 3 times, in other words, you'd need to do some exe editing to make it happen, which none of us can.
-
^^ Exactly! While the 321 activate can't really be done, other announcements could be. However unless someone can get into the files for the game and find JP's commentary audio files, I dont think they'll be that good of a quality. A couple of things that could be done though to make up for it is hopefully to of course add the pit siren, but then a couple of years ago, Mad gave a code for playing music while in the arena, mix that code with the battle music from Robot Wars, and voila! A tiny bit more realistic :P
-
It may be possible to have the countdown. Think of the Octagon arena, with the pit sliders. I believe they open up sooner in the fight if you watch the intro, which means the script they use is timed from when the arena is loaded and not the time left in the fight . Assuming you don't make an intro, with a bit of trial and error maybe you could maybe have a sound file play as the countdown begins. It won't get rid of the beeps, but you could replace them with silent wav files.
(This is all theoretical as I haven't tested the Octagon arena for this, atleast not in 5/6/7 years)
-
*Joygasm*
Ohgod... Now I feel to have urge to revive RW9, and put it on DSL.
I need to host CA3 first though.
-
:claping :claping
Might have to make use of this.
-
Well either way - I'm gonna need all the help I can get :') *hinty hint to those who would like this to be finished quicker lol*
-
If I had any skill whatsoever in editing anything, I'd be happy to help.
Sadly, I have very few uses. :ermm:
-
Well either way - I'm gonna need all the help I can get :') *hinty hint to those who would like this to be finished quicker lol*
Do you have a checklist?
-
I'd be happy to help with anything you need, mainly skinning because I don't know how to do collision meshes or GMF's but I'd be willing to learn.
-
Well I guess the main things I will need help with are:
- Converting to GMF (Some things about it are easy, whilst others are hard!)
- Getting some form of commentary
- Some help with aspects of the .py file (Like hinges, fire, ect.)
Another thing I'd really love to do, but would definitely need help with, is make a version of this arena in the Pinball setup as the test arena! However while I could probably easily mesh everything like the barrels, ramp, ect., to make them moveable and not static is something I dont think I could do either.... :')

Best. Idea. Ever.

Fantastic! I love the look of it so far, especially the Pit and the Flipper. My only concerns are that it's a little bit small, and that the arena wall grinders are missing- but for very early on into the project, that's marvellous. :approve:
-
GF, if you look at a later post you'll see he added the angle grinders XD
-
GF, if you look at a later post you'll see he added the angle grinders XD
Crap, sorry about that. XD
But yes, it's all looking very, very good so far- especially with the addition of the back wall. It could definitely be a little bigger though, that's my only concern.
-
Well all it would take is one click of the scale button and I can enlarge it if needs be :P (or shrink it for the Ants ;) )
-
Well all it would take is one click of the scale button and I can enlarge it if needs be :P (or shrink it for the Ants ;) )
Ah, that's alright then- it just needs to be fairly bigger, so that it's about the same size of the real one in terms of scale. Once that's sorted out though, it'll be more or less perfect so far. :claping
-
<3
-
I think the size of the arena is ok. only the grinders are a bot oversized
-
Is it possible to have the pit lower slower like IRL?
-
Hey awesome stuff Wham,
A new RW arena was on my to-do list for aaagges but never got around to doing it..
Curious, are you actually making this arena from GMF files or in a 3D program?
-
Is it possible to have the pit lower slower like IRL?
It should be- if the Deathpit covers on The Octagon can be made to retract slowly, I don't see why they can't.
-
Yeah, but that's horizontal (as are other pit hazards on the game). It's apparently something to do with the gravity.
-
Curious, are you actually making this arena from GMF files or in a 3D program?
He is using a 3D program ATM. I'm pretty sure that the screenshot that he took is from a CAD program.
The speed at which the pit is moving doesn't matter because it is just a 3D model. He has to add the hinges and prismatics himself after exporting what he has to a GMF file. Also, it shouldn't be too difficult to slow the pit down (gravity can be easily compensated).
-
Can you elevate the arena about a metre up from the floor? The OOTA-zone floor was actually level with the bottom of the Pit.
-
Wow this is looking brilliant! :claping If there's any textures from RW:ED you think you're missing just let me know!
And as far as the "3, 2, 1" and other stuff is concerned, this was how I did it on mine in case it is any help. I managed to get music to play during a match, so I made a custom track with RW music and a recording of the "3, 2, 1" from one of my RW DVDs at the start of it. Unfortunately it often isn't in time depending on how long it takes to load, but better than nothing! I also replaced the end of match commentry with recordings of "Cease" and the SFX that go with it. And managed to find a recording of what sounds like the exact same siren used on the show on the net so I added that too. In case any of that is of help, but obviously need to finish the model first haha!
-
Can you elevate the arena about a metre up from the floor? The OOTA-zone floor was actually level with the bottom of the Pit.
Actually Sonny, I believe the Pit was very slightly shallower than the OOTA Zone floor- they would've needed some more space in the bottom to accomodate the lowering/raising mechanism.
-
@Joe - Well if you would like a quick mesh... ;) And it's all currently being done in Milkshape - so it's literally just a mesh atm. However if you would like to have a go converting it to a GMF (ASE is the closest to a GMF - it can be converted with a little changing here and there, however I have tried an arena and it doesnt work so far, so something like this would be more in your area of expertise...)
@Resetti - The arena floor is level with the bottom of the pit :P
@Ducky - If you wouldnt mind! I'm really in need of all 3 skins for the garage doors, and the remaining 'number pannells' (the ones that go around the audience area perimiter). As for sounds, anything would be appreciated. No guatentee on what could be used, but might aswell have more of what I need than not enough :P
As for an update, not much ATM as been busy, however I have 2 weeks off now :) Sooo hopefully....
-

Maybe I can help with that. My personal two choices for background music (I've seen it be used for Arenas in the past, so I'm quite sure that it'll be possible to implement) would be one of these two pieces-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQf1tRdYW14# (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQf1tRdYW14#)
This one was used for the TV Studio Arena in the PC/Xbox version of Extreme Destruction.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lB2pKhQ6CcA# (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lB2pKhQ6CcA#)
This one was used as the fight music for Series 1-4 of Robot Wars itself, and also as one of two themes for the TV Studio Arena in the PC version of Arenas of Destruction.
Come to think of it, it might be a good idea to use both, but have them alternate for each fight you have in the Arena- much like in Arenas of Destruction. Would that be possible? If not, don't worry.
-
Okay these appear to be all of the arena textures, hopefully I havent missed any! https://gametechmods.com/uploads/files/8956Robot Wars Arena Textures.rar (https://gametechmods.com/uploads/files/8956Robot Wars Arena Textures.rar) There are only 2 garage door textures, so the right hand door image must be flipped to use as the left door.
The full soundtrack from all of the Robot Wars games is available here in .zip files http://robotwars.wikia.com/wiki/User_talk:StalwartUK/Robot_Wars_music (http://robotwars.wikia.com/wiki/User_talk:StalwartUK/Robot_Wars_music) so these could be made of use too.
-
OMG Ducky, Thank you soo much! These will be a MASSIVE help! :D Was just wondering though (sorry to pester haha) but would be able to get the UI for say AOD? I think with the 'garage' music ect. a nice little UI pack could be put together haha :P
-
No worries! I was soo happy when I came across those music downloads on the RW Wiki! And ahh well I don't actually own AoD on PC, only on PS2. I had a nosey on that a bit ago and the resolution and music seem to be poorer on PS2 versions. E.g. the main menu background image is of a resolution of 256x256, so it would probably look quite poor on higher res PC monitors. The RW:ED PC version UI is of higher resolution, but arguably doesnt look as nice as the AoD one. But yes it would be nice to have a Robot Wars UI  Personally I'd wanna try and make it look like another Robot Wars game rather than RA2 hehe
-
By the way, would it be possible to add the ball of smoke for the Pit for when a robot falls in? That'd be very cool to have.
-
@Ducky - Ahh, no problem :) What else do you think you'd be able to get your hands on though...? (E.g. meshes...)
@GoldenFox - Maybe... it would most likely be the smoke particle effect, but I dunno if one of the more advanced modders would be able to tell me if this would be possible?
And as for making into a working arena... it is really out of my league for sure. I've tried already working between ASE and GMF, but everytime I keep hitting some form of snag (e.g. No collision, crashes game when clicking attach, positioning is completely messed up...) However the mesh always does show up, so that's some success I guess! So as i've said already - someone more advanced would have to do the converting part for me. I know I've said this already, but I'm really sure this time. I'm happy to give out the mesh when I'm happy that it's done (should be not that much longer...) But unfortunately guys, I can only do the mesh and skin. If you want this to be a working arena, I'll need a second person involved.
-
Could make our own Robot Wars UI from some game files and internet textures at some point. And ahh actual meshes and things I dont really have a clue about, I'm more the graphics side aha. Although looking in an "Arenas" folder, each arena has a ".are" and ".col" file if that means anything to anyone?
And oohh yes the plume of smoke that would be a nice touch!
-
Ah, OK. That's a bit of a blow, but if you ask one of the more experienced Arena Modders, I'm sure they'll be happy to help- after all, if you've already provided the meshes and most of the visuals, it should hopefully be quite easily possible for them to transfer the code and all.
-
Ducky - I might be able to do something.... Is there anything aswell for the robots? (Like the components, bodies, ect.?)
GoldenFox - Hehe I would ask, but I don't want to come across as an annoying noob :') I'd rather someone say that they wouldn't mind helping rather than me pestering them haha :P And well here's to hoping... :P
Good news! Few more details and I dare say that this mesh will be finished! :)
-

Not at all, man- you're quite established here as it is, so if you can present the finished mesh once it's ready, I'm sure they'll be more than happy to help you out. After all, it's a good time for an update to the RW Arena (Something which a lot of people I know on here would love to see become a reality), and if it's just a matter of coding it- if you ask nicely, someone will definitely help with that part. :approve:
And that's fantastic to hear- once they're on and sorted out, would you mind providing a few pictures of the finished mesh? Thanks.
-

Certainly :approve:
I am quite proud with how this has turned out :P It's like 99% done, only thing that really needs to be done is the Drop Zone object (might make it a Washing Machine, but make it collapsible like the Computer in the DSL Test Arena, so it's more realistic than an unbreakable block of a fridge lol) and some details at the back of the venue (can't remember that well what went there...)
Other than them... It's done! :D Now to wait and see if anyone would like the job of coding to a GMF and PY (still feel it's rude to ask directly... lol) And I know it seems a bit dark, but hopefully once a few Omni lights have been added it should make it more brighter :P

That's nothing short of Magnificent! Well done, that'll be absolutely marvellous once it's coded. :claping
-
Beautiful! I really hope you find someone who knows how to do GMF editing. Maybe put "GMF coder needed" or something in the title. Which side do you mean when you say the "back of the venue?"
-
^^ Shall do! :P
And thanks! :) I might try and make some 'mesh-remakes' of some of the other arenas on the game :) (Fancy being my partner for this, Ducky? ;) )
Actually might aswell start a 'Mesh Market' thread :P I have a few robot replica meshes, ect. Might aswell post my meshes on there and if anyone fancies having a go at the mesh convertion themselves, then they're welcome to it :)
And by that I mean the side on the outside of the arena 'lexan audience walls' that has nothing there (you can see the arena wall with the roboteer pods and the two side with the audience and numbers, the remaining wall is the one that I'm on about)
-
Here's a potential description for it-
"Purpose-rebuilt in the United Kingdom, the legendary Robot Wars Arena is where their Champions have proven themselves to be a formidable force, and where many a competitor has fought (and fallen) bravely. Not many have returned in one piece- often courtesy of the varied hazards that dominate the scene, including the Floor Flipper, the Drop Zone, Angle Grinders, Flame Grille, and the dreaded Pit of Oblivion."
-
There are indeed other files, although some of them seem specialised to the game or something. Theres ".col" and ".chs" files for robot chassis' (Fictional and real-life robots), ".col" and ".wpn" files for weapons, ".arm" files for armour and others. I presume the ".col" files are the meshes as they appear in multiple places? Also theres meshes and textures for drop zone objects and barrels, perhaps you could use those drop zone objects?
And ahh yes more arenas, that could be a cunning plan! :approve: I put together the Japanese Rooftop arena floor a while back (the arena floors are in sections in seperate images).
-
I presume that by looking at the pattern, .col would be the collision files. I dont think that the .chs, .are, .arm ect. files are recogniseable by programs, is there a way to open them up and see if they hold any other files in them? If not send a couple over and I'll see what I can do with them. As for meshes and textures for drop zone objects, sure send them over, couldnt hurt :3 And mwahaha an accomplice! ;D The Japanese Rooftop is one I was acctually really wanting to do next! :D I loved that arena haha! (And the Sao Paulo Scrapyard! :D)
-
Ohh I see, and yeah I didnt think so. I've found that the .arm, .chs, .are files all open up in notepad. They just detail info such as camera angles, damage and strength for each object. Not sure where the meshes are then at the mo, will have to have a further nosey! As far as textures are concerned theres an anvil, barrels, washing machine, and a piano etc.
-
Fair enough then! :P And omg please could you send over the washing machine?! :D That would be a MASSIVE help! xD
-
The Japanese Rooftop is one I was acctually really wanting to do next! :D I loved that arena haha! (And the Sao Paulo Scrapyard! :D)
OMG YES
PLEASE DO
-
Right heres all the drop zone objects I came across, there may be more. https://gametechmods.com/uploads/files/Drop Zone Objects.rar (https://gametechmods.com/uploads/files/Drop Zone Objects.rar)
I've noticed in the textures folder there are .rwm files, would these mean anything? They open up as a page-full of gibberish in notepad.

probably obscure picture files...

I'd dare say that .rwm means Robot Wars Mesh... :P
-
Right well heres a couple of .rwm files to play with in case they are of any use https://gametechmods.com/uploads/files/Possible Meshes.rar (https://gametechmods.com/uploads/files/Possible Meshes.rar) Sorry about the delay!

Japanese Rooftops in RA2 would be best thing. A new, good tabletop arena <3 only problem is the glass?
-

Few options:
Button to open.
Slide or fall open after a certain amount of time.
Act like the fridge in the RW arena (when you hit it when flipped or glitch into it, it falls).
-
Thanks Ducky! It'll take some time but hopefully I should have them figure out soonish :P
And yeah Rob that's pretty much correct with the fridge! I think that you could maybe set up a delay on some nodes (mesh parts) so that once they've been sat on for long enough, they turn into unstatic objects (similar to the original arena) :)
-

Falling platforms, like in the obstacle arena
-
Exactly :P
And on a side note...
Can you tell what it is yet? :dumb)
-
Is that..the Rooftop arena from RW:AOD?Also I would lose it if you made the Sao Paulo Scrapyard or the Car Factory from Extreme Destruction.
-
GOT IT.

Yes it is the start of a version of the Tokyo Rooftop Arena :P It's not from any particular game... it's just 'inspired', which is better than nothing I guess :P
Added a few more details:
Just waiting for a reply from Ducky for some of the textures then I can start adding them :)
-
Ahh yes looking very good! Those .rwm files of any use? And I bear gifts! https://gametechmods.com/uploads/files/Japanese Rooftop Arena Textures.rar (https://gametechmods.com/uploads/files/Japanese Rooftop Arena Textures.rar) There seems to be less textures for this arena.
Again personally I felt the AoD version looked nicer, although many of the images in my PS2 AoD seem to be in a weirdo format and poor quality aha.
-
Thank you again for that! :D
Well, apart from the generator and the smoke exhausts, here is the finished Rooftop Arena! :D
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/93881mesh7.jpg)
I have one more idea aswell as how I can add more depth, other than that... :D
Also, if anyone would like to submit their own Billboard Images, feel free! I'd really like a Robot Wars based one, and 2 generic ones :) But they must be colourful! :D
-
That, is amazing.
I think in honor of it being a JAPANESE Rooftop in the game, one of the generic billboards should be a Japanese one - but das jus me.
-
Oho, nice.
What are the dimensions for the ads? So they're the correct proportion and all that.
-
Sao Paulo Scrapyard. I'm interested in seeing how the crusher will work.
-
Thank you again for that! :D

Fantastic! I love how atmospheric it is with the signs and the tall buildings- I reckon that once it's all coded and sorted out, it'll make a superb Tabletop arena.
-
Brilliant !

I'll see what I can do about some sort of promotional billboard for Japanese dubbed Robot Wars. What should the dimensions and file format be?
-
The ads are Japanese :P But the reason im asking for people to submit their own is so that I can hopfully get more japanese-looking ones.
The dimensions are about 640 x 400 :)
And Sao Paulo might be my next one, or the New York Subway :P
And thanks guys! :D
-
Looks superb! :claping will be brill to play! ...Not worth doing one with the original arena floor skin? ;) Joking but yeah shall find the textures for the next arenas when I can
-
Haha I mainly wanted the textures for the skylight and generator :') And thanks! :D

NEW YORK SUBWAY.
OHGODYES.

I left myself in your hands, Google Translate. Do not fail me.
(I think I need a better drinks cup.. and more references for Japanese ads)

Hmm, so Biggie Burger expanded into a Worldwide franchise between 2003 and now?
-
Hey, if they've got the money to be the sole sponsor of a annual robotic combat competition, maybe they were already? x)
-
Acctually I like the idea of Bigger Burger being one of them :') Ok! Competition time! :D
Ads must now advertise either:
-Robot Wars
-RA2
-Something associated with RA2
Have fun :P
-
And that's fantastic to hear- once they're on and sorted out, would you mind providing a few pictures of the finished mesh? Thanks.

Duuuuuude that is fantastic. With your permission, I'd volunteer to make the .py for that arena so it can replace Lu-Tze's RW arena in DSL. If you need it converted to .gmf from some other format, though, that's unfortunately outside my skill set.
-
Absolutely! And if you like I can give you an idea of how to convert it to a .gmf? It does kind of work, but i'm not that good at the whole gmf thing, whereas you're obviously much better than me! :P If not you might be able to ask Trov or Joe for assistance :)
I'll send it over ASAP! Would you like the rooftop arena aswell or just the RW one? :P
-
Well if it "kind of works" in that you can convert it to .gmf but it doesn't work in-game, I could probably look at the .gmf and fix it up so it works. I just can't convert from .max or something because I don't have any sort of 3D modeling program.
We'll just work with the RW arena for now. If I can get that working, then maybe we can consider other arenas.
-
Well by 'kind of works' I mean that whenever I try to convert it there's always some form of snag. I'm also not that good with arenas, I'm still trying to figure out components, so I wouldn't feel confident doing something like that atm.
When you open the .ase file in Notepad++ it looks somewhat similar to a .gmf. Only thing that would maybe really need to be changed in it is the faces sector (I'll include notes in the PM).
I'll also include the original mesh file. I use Milkshape, which you can download quite easily for free incase you want to have a play around with it (If you don't and you want to any changed to be made, feel free to ask and I'll gladly make them).
And okdoke then :) Thank you again for offering, I really can't wait to see this as a working arena!! :D

i'd make one but as you guys know, 027...

Actually I don't, what is it?

he hates everything to do with japan
-
sooooooo?
noone I know loves robot wars or anything related to it but did it stop me from becoming the greates member of gtm?
yeah it did! but I still build stuff...
-
he hates everything to do with japan
And? I'm quite sure it's not to the extent of violently attacking someone if they mention it. If it is to that extent however, tell him from me to suck it, and that this arena will be awesome.
-
Dafuq is going on right now? Have I missed something? :S

No worries, Wham- just providing a solution for Badnik on a certain matter. :gawe:
-
Ok then..... :P

Looks quite amazing keep up the amazing work. :approve:

Cool bots!
-
he hates everything to do with japan
But he enjoys hacking N64 ROMS... Do we need to tell him where Nintendo is based?
Anyway, I'm not a big fan of Robot Wars, but I'm loving these arenas.
-
let me reword things
most stuff to do with japan (ex: anime)
-
still doesn't make any sense why his dislike in japan stops you from making a sign like this.
if i had a younger brother he wouldn't stop me from anything.

Quoted for truth.

That is an awesome new arena.
Do the Smelter arena next, because it's by far the most badass arena in rw:aod.
-
Thanks Nar! :D And I can only do so many :') IDK which one I'll do next haha :') Might wanna do the Kilimanjaro one ;')
-

Oh Hell yes, I loved that arena. I always liked baiting opponents to the upper gantries, before shoving them into the vat of Molten Steel-
"Disqualification- by melting!"
-
I felt like doing this one :P
We've travelled to London, Tokyo, now we go to New York ;)
Not much in the way of hazards - Works more as a table top arena :P
Falling into the tracks and going too far up the stairs will eiliminate a bot (Might include the trains as the hazard for the tracks though, question about that later) And the vending machine could fall on a bot I guess :P
Advanced PY'ers, would you know if it would be possible to code a node object to travel from just 2 points (one at one end of the tunnel, and another at the other) and make it possible for it to travel between these points every, say, 20 seconds? Like a train would :P
If so I might work on the trains ;)
Anyway, thoughts? :D Dunno what one to do next but hopefully wont be too far away :P
-
Awesome! <3
I love you.
-
the part where the train crosses and the railing can you make it a ramp or r u keeping it like that
-
Thanks Jonzu :D Love ya too :P
And Dunno :P Can easily be changed :P
-
Will it crash the game?
-
At the moment - yes :P

I've only got a theoretical solution - timed Prismatics (Combat Zone spikes, Compressor arena crushers)
The trains could be a model that is pushed back and forth at intervals. Problem is I don't know if trains go in both directions on the same track frequently. (Ofcourse not at the same time)
EDIT: Scratch that, I didn't look at the first part. I don't know how that'd be possible, hmm.
-
can you make objects go in circles?
-
can you make objects go in circles?
 Why would u want to have them iun circles?
Is that good?
-
Both possibilites could work.... except I think the circles idea would make the Train go through the walls/platform, as opposed to going in a straight line :P
-
well "going in circles" was more meant like go in a square or rectangle
-
Well that would probably be more ideal :P
-
oh ok
wait is there another wall where the train goes thourgh?
-

Make the front of the soda machine look like the fruit punch that you can win as a prize in RA2.
-
Could you do the Volcano arena from AoD (the one with the rocket in the middle) or perhaps the Sao Paulo Scrapyard?

Ah, I didn't notice this until now, actually- it's not too bad, but it's a bit cramped, and in some cases not that accurate. In some areas (In particular with the single stairs, very narrow tunnels, its relatively small size for a double-sided station platform, and general lack of subway-esque paraphernelia like support pillars or seating), it feels more like a basement.
That's not to say it's bad at all though- far from it. I feel that it could be improved visually in some ways to make it look more like a dilapidated station.
Perhaps this sort of style for the walls and platform might work? I could imagine turnstile gates at one end, and blocked-off stairs at the other.
-
Prismatics would work to move the train. Just set the floor as the base and the train as the moving part (a parent node would work fine).
-
Fair enough then :) Thanks!
And GF yeah I might do a reworked version aha :P
-

Cool, I'll see if I can work on a floor plan for it- I have some ideas for the layout.
-
Thank you again for that!
Sorry for the bump Wham, but I was able to find this theme for the Japanese Rooftop-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sY6oOi7MOE#ws (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sY6oOi7MOE#ws)
It's the second theme it had in Arenas of Destruction. (The Japanese Techno-sounding one)
-
Right, someone NEEDS to get in touch with Wham so he can release all 3 arenas because they haven't been released and to be honest we all want these.
-
Yup some needs to!
I want the arenas because I've been thinking about it.
-
Please quit bumping this thread.
-
Alright HF, BBB is new, so we usually go a little easier on the whole bumping thing.
I'll lock this thread up - any updates to these arenas will be posted in the aforementioned mod thread.
