Title: frezal's Skin Pack
Post by: frezal on July 23, 2009, 05:48:59 PM
I think the last thing I released to the public was ChaseTheCheese's Long Battery, so I've decided to start work on a skin pack. In the past, I've always kept my skins to myself, so I think it's time to finally start releasing some.

This project is still in the early phases, so I don't know when it will be released. I'm thinking I may release it in small doses, and then zip them altogether as one package when it's complete.

As for what will be skinned, I'm not quite sure. I would say a fair chunk of the stock components. Some of them look fine as is (Ex. Control Board), so those will be left alone. In addition to stock components, I plant on providing some textures for the paint shop, and making a new skin for the previously mentioned Long Battery. It was originally my intention to reskin it before making it public, but due to some outside pressures, I released it before my skin was complete. That skin is now long gone, so it's time to make a new one.

This is not intended to be something revolutionary. I'm just wanting to share with you my creations.

Now, I leave you with some teasers.

Oh, it's shooped alright. The original was done in a very pixelated fashion, so I thought I'd follow suit by doing it pixel-by-pixel (aside from the text).

Have you released similar looking skins? If so, pix plz. If not, I don't see the problem. You don't own the exclusive rights to make skins.

And of course the actual thread, with strangly the same exact name

Here's the actual original thread before i turned it into a pack.

And of course I don't own the right to make skins, but you should know i've been doing it for a long time and already have a pack coming out. You have a cool disc cause you know how to add black shapes to a .tga ALPHA file. It looks amazing. Would you be interesting in submitting it to my pack?

The disk is real nice.  (I wish more would do skins with the tga alpha channel. I think that Venko did a tutorial...)

I didn't notice your thread before, so rest assured, I'm not attempting to one up your pack. This is something I've been wanting to do for years, and am finally getting around to doing it. I no longer have any of the skins from before I left the community, so I'm basically redoing a lot of these from memory.

I was just going to let it loose here in a day or so. If you want to include it in your pack anyway, feel free to do so. Just make sure to give me credit.

Alright. What might be cool, though, is to do a disc and saw expansion pack. The fnal release will actually only have 3 new skins for each component (along with the original) but some components will recieve an expansion pack. Myabe if you made a lot of really cool discs and saws that might be a good idea.

But if you're gonna release them one by one, that's fine too.
