This is my first wheel, so it's not that awsome, made by Lu Tze's tutorial, and it's very high poly. And it's not smoothed, but it's a wheel, none the less, and it works fine in-game =)

The wheel in gmf, with everything you need to use it in-game (https://gametechmods.com/uploads/files/1467DYMO_Wheel_1.rar)
Hope you like it! :D (and I hope it's the right forum :P)

It does look cool.
If it's a balanced custom component, then it's fine (like, per example, the same characteristics as a rubber wheel).
-
It has very similar in-game properties as the rubber wheel, but I'n my opinion looks a little nice. If I only could get it smoothed, so that you don't see all the faces..
-
Looks nice. :D
It's very good for your first one. I'd love to be able to make my own components someday but I don't have the right software :(...
EDIT: The link doesn't work.
-
Sry, now it works! :D
Just get 3D Studio Max, it's not hard to get a hold of..
-
What operatng system do you have?
-
And which version of 3dsMax do you use?
-
I have Windows XP Professional and 3D Studio Max 5 + 3D Studio Max 9 (http://autodesk.com/)
Whether or not these are retail, is another question..
-
XP SP2 messed Max up here in the US....you must not have SP2 or it is different in your language.
-
I have SP2, and it still works fine :D
I can't however, have 3DSM 5 and 3DSM 9 installed at the same time, I use 3DSM 9 on my other computer..
-
Are you telling me that you are able to use 3DS MAX 9 for Robot Arena 2 directly? Or do you transfer that gmf to 3DS Max 5? We are all curious since it is VERY rare to get any current max versions working with RA2

v.8 works with my exporter script. cf. Wiki.
v.9 should work, too.
-
I haven't tried it yet, for now I only use 3DSM 5, since you need that to have Warcraft III Art Tools, and I use it to model Warcraft III, too. But Serge's right, acording to the Wiki, it should work with atleast v.8.
