First bot I'm proud of in this mod. It's a SHW.
-
A SHW? What armour does it have?
-
Dual blackbirds are dang heavy. So are the extenders. I forget what armor I gave it, it might be 5mm tite?
-
I guess that makes sense. I have had trouble making a good looking/working HW with decent speed. I've had only one good bot for this so far.
-
I think smaller spikes would look better, you could prob put spikes on both sides then

Rule of seven keeps me from putting spikes on the back aside from where I have them now, sadly.
-
That looks very nice. Personally I don't really like the black armour panels between the wheels, but everything else looks great.

Yeah I wanted them to be bigger so it looked better but the game wouldn't let me. Sucks really.
-
Have you tried using side panels instead of armored panel?
I don't think I can fit more armor pieces into the mod without creating giant clutters.
-
i got bored

inspired by moe
i think it's an underweight shw (540) but i'm happy with it and i cba to edit it anymore
-
Weew Pretty Sweg
-
The spikes are terrifyingly big...
Can you put anything on the spinner beaters to add weight? I mean idk how Ironforge works but it's worth a try maybe?
-
I like it, but I think the spikes are a little much.
-
yeah the spikes are a little big. wish there were smaller ones
i'll try adding more beaters but i don't think i'll be able to get it perfect because of the rule of 7
-
still bored

lightweight ultra-compact rammer
its fun to drive

holy crap im making a showcase post the planets have aligned

i didnt think this would be that good but ironforge pistons are great so there you go
give me advice on how to make it better than it already is
-
I would say make it wider, and move the drive motors as far back as possible. Maybe move the pistons further back too, right now I think they either just push opponents away or hit them before the opponent touches the wedge.
-
think you have too much batteries
-
think you have too much batteries
that too, this will do fine with 1 black.
-
you should probably put some armour on the top. the piston bot i entered into badger's tournament got screwed pretty quickly because it had no armour.
-
remove batteries, make it wider, maybe wider wheels so it drives faster but i bet it doesnt matter since of the pistons

decided to make something new for gtmcs. 296 something, 2 ballasts, 2 bigvolts for battery power. pretty nasty overall
-
pretty nasty overall
really?
besides the motor getting knocked off in 1 hit by a HS i'm pretty worried about the weapon being too low to do any real dmg. but if you say so
-
in testing it seems to hold up pretty well against anything that isnt a popup. maybe im just not testing against the right things
-
Did some tweaks. Managed to get some motor protection without sacrificing too much

also gave it a quick skin
-
nicky's tournament gave me something to do and i wanted to prove the nerds in discord wrong about me not contributing to sh** anymore so i built a thing.

i kinda took inspiration from mess maker, who i loved watching in gtmcs2, and insectoid because insectoid is badass. it's decent but not great. mediocre wedges and it isn't amazing at gutripping, but it's serviceable enough to beat a good chunk of the ai.
but i wasn't satisfied, so i went back to the drawing board:

it's a lot messier-looking, but i think i like this one more. giving it irons instead of blades freed up a large chunk of weight, so i was able to give it some proper wheel protection. irons also do a much better job of killing things in one hit. using sickles as trappers works a lot better, since the sickle's weird-ass mesh lets wedges slide between them and the rest of the bot so it can dig into chassis more easily. it gets under just about every wedge in both reforged and reier's pack so i have some high hopes for it.

it weighs 498kg with 2 ballasts. if i were to do this again (and i may still try that) i think i might try a u-shaped chassis so i can spread the wedges out further and chassis-mount the drive.
