I think you probably answered your own question about why it's happening when you said you got a ton of addons :P I imagine your game is getting very messed up. I think your issue is probably with the AIs - if I were you, start again with a clean copy but only install 1 AI pack, and make sure that the pack doesn't conflict with your other stuff - for example, don't download a pack meant for DSL when you don't have the DSL components etc
