Trying to get a resolution of 2560x1600 to work properly
« on: February 21, 2009, 07:04:21 PM »
I have changed the lines in the ra2.cfg file to say:

FSDisplayWidth=2560
FSDisplayHeight=1600
FS3DDisplayWidth=2560
FS3DDisplayHeight=1600

It seems to be displaying the correct resolution, but a portion of the bottom and right side of the screen stays a Grey color and some of the buttons in the UI are cut off by it.

Anyone know how to get this resolution to display properly?

Thanks for any help up front...

I don't think this game was made with the mere thought that someone's monitor resolution could be that large. It's twice as large as the average user back in the day.

Yea I was thinking it might be overkill but thought That I would try

Setting the values to:

FSDisplayWidth=2560
FSDisplayHeight=1600
FS3DDisplayWidth=1600
FS3DDisplayHeight=1200

Lets me actually fight in full screen at the full rez but when I'm in menus or building it uses a smaller section of the screen. But its fully functional and lets me play without having everything fuzzy.

I figure it could simply be because the program itself was manufactured to work best according to the standard resolution. Playing around with it is a good way to figure out how it works, but i believe its hardcoded. Unless there is a way for it to detect your screen size.

There is no way for it to detect screen size that I know of. So yea a limit of 1600x1200 in the building area and menus seems to be applied. But, in fights the full 2560x1600 res works perfectly.

Python can detect your screen size, but I don't know what good that would do...
Input is appreciated. :)
