Installation problems
« on: October 01, 2008, 08:41:03 PM »
Hello all, I have a problem with my RA2 game. I had it running very well for a long time, but awhile ago I had to make some cuts do to harddrive space. Well, now I am trying to install the game again and everytime I try to install it begins to read the disk and I get an error message that says "This patch package could not be opened, verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer Package. RADDPatchv1_20.msp.

Does anyone know what is wrong?

It sounds like you're trying to install the 1.2 patch.  RADDPatchv1_20?  You would need the game installed first to install the patch, and then you might as well install 1.3.

But it doesn't sound like you even have the unpatched game working, so you might try just copying and pasting the files right off the CD if your computer won't read it.  They're not compressed or anything.

I am just running the installation off of the CD. I dont have any of the patches or the game installed.

I tried copying and pasting the game, but I cant edit any files, create any robots or install any replica robots (which is what I really want to do)

Is there anyway to be able to add new files to the game such as mods if you just copy and paste from the CD files?
