When ever I add a
mass = x
(x as the weight I want for the component) to my component txt files, in game it says the correct weight for some of the components but for others a number I have never seen. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?
-
Some components have the weight in the .gmf, so you have to decompile it or take that into consideration.
-
I am aware of that, but i thought the txt file over ran that? And it is giving a weight that is not in the gmf or txt
-
Well the txt does not over ride it....Are you doing a wheel because I had that issue with the little green wheel.
-
The mass parameter in the txt file only affects the main body in the gmf. Simple components like spikes and ram plates only have one part so there's no problem.
If the component has multiple parts like a motor or a wheel, then the weight of the axle, traction zone, etc. gets added on top of whatever the main body's mass is. So you have to subtract the weight of any extra objects in order to get the desired weight for the main body.
