Title: can't import DSL bots

I installed DSL and it works, but it crashes if I try to import a robot design (I downloaded a 2.0 pack I found here)

- CD or Download version?
I don't exactly know, it was already installed I think.
- How did you try to install it?
DSL works
- What errors are you getting?
it crashes if I try to import bot designs

2.1 is already installed.


any idea? it takes some time before the crash and that gave me the impression that maybe the robots are too complex, or maybe it's a version problem.

PS: if it's a problem with the pack I would like to see a bot design, because in DSL there are so many parts and I am a bit confused about what to use, I need some examples to understand.

I understand you have a point LRA2 ^^ but for newer members they might not fully understand cheat parts and whats not (I dont even know if you fully know)

basically if the bots are coming from any other patches they wont work with out the patch, so if you built a robot with say the Dark Patches installed you bots wont work in any other game... they must match up perfectly

these bots were in the download section of this site and were made with DSL version 2.0, I have DSL 2.1, is this the reason?

I wrote this on the post but maybe my english isn't very good, tell me if you don't understand :)

Basicaly do's the bots you try to import have any parts that don't come with the game?

there is no problem Murloc your English is fine :-D

as for the bots.. maybe try using the link in my signature to get yourself a ready to run DSL 2.1 and try the bots in that ?

edit: are you trying to get the DSL v2.0 AI bots to work ?

I think the problem is that the bots are 2.0 and my game is 2.1.

sorry for double post and bump but I have updates: I tried to play a game with an imported AI bot and the enemies didn't move, and then I got a runtime error.
Random crashes during loadings too.

I think my version of RA2 isn't moddable, I'll download that pack posted some messages before.

opponents not moving sounds like the fault in DSL 2 that was corrected in 2.1 so install that if you dont have it.

ocean platform and compressor arena both did it.. if you have too much trouble click my signature and follow through to get a clean already installed copy of DSL 2.1
