Title: "alwaysvisible = false" isn't working
Post by: Resetti's Replicas on November 01, 2010, 05:31:34 PM
I can't get the skirt hinges to be invisible outside the botlab, despite putting "alwaysvisible = false" into the txt file.  Help?

when something isn't always visible, it doesn't mean it never is. To make something invisible you have to use the .gmf i believe. Under the "Materials" section (where the names of the skins are) there should be an option for opaque-ness. I think... 1 is invisible 0 is not?

I havent messed with the gmf in a while xD

That's only for components directly connected to the chassis.

For GMF editing, look for "transparency" and set it to 1.  Be sure you are setting it for the right material (or just search for all incidents of transparency and set them all = 1).

I thought that because the long black part of the skirt hinge was an axle, it still shows even when you put in alwaysvisible = false

Yeah put transparency to 1 inside the gmf.

Won't "transparency=1" make it invisible in the botlab as well?

Yes, but if you display the collision mesh when building (F12) it will be fine.
