A little more obscure than most, here we have Lyle from the game Lyle in Cube Sector. It's a fun little metroidvania that I think you guys should try. Unfortunately, I think the guy's site is down atm : (

His moveset will revolve around generating and throwing cubes. This also means his grabs/throws will be top notch.

And here's Commander Video. Probably the quickest sprite I've done yet.

The Kid from I Wanna Be The Guy. Not entirely sold on this sprite, what do you guys think?

I think Cpt. Video needs to be taller.

Remember when sleep was a thing?

New sprite, Juan from Guacamelee! His game literally gives him four special moves with button inputs, so those will be his moves. Also expect very powerful throws. This sprite took a long time and I'm not looking forward to animating him. :V

You should do one for one of the stickmen in the game Stick Wars, if you know what the game is. I would suggest either a magikill, Spartan, or swordsman.

That could be cool, kung.

If you want, I got movesets for Thomas and Meatboy. It was for a game I was making (not limited to indie though, as it was for PC)

new sprite

one of the fencers from Nidhogg. Not entirely fond of this one, I think it looks strange. Will probably redo it when I'm not tired.

I'd make the fencer look more dull. He doesnt have much detail in the game.

here some more suggestions, I'll PM you that movesets once i find my book.

Characters:
ARID - The Fall
Viking - Swords & Soldiers
Shantae - Shantae and the Pirates Curse

Stages:
Sportsball Arena
Lone Star Domination.

I think the fencer guy needs his elbow to be a little less round looking, but it's great other than that.

What are you programming this with?

I'm programming the game in Unity. Seems like the easiest way to go.

Redid the fencer sprite a little. Gave him some more detail (screw you qwerty XD) and reworked the shading/pose a little. Looks a lot better now IMO.

Here's Dust from his self-titled game. Fidget will follow him in game, but she's a whole different sprite entirely.

I used a different spriting method for this one, sizing down an actual frame from the game to work in this size and then tracing it over.

For the announcer, you could have a little contest for people to send in voice clips and then see who's is the best.

An update on the arenas:

I'd love to tell you that the arena concepts are coming along! I'd love to tell you that...

I'll send you the concepts that I've got so far tomorrow afternoon, Badnik.

New sprite! The Clawed Girl from They Bleed Pixels. She seems a little small, but she's about the same height as Lyle, so it isn't that bad I think. Her main gimmick is when she does enough damage, she can create a Save Sigil that she can teleport to at any time, making her incredibly mobile.

Sounds good dude!

You ever find those movesets, qwerty?

They Bleed Pixels?  (after some browsing on images) Nice one.
