Combat robotics roll & write game: RoboFray

(1/1)

TheBuggers:
Hey all, here is something a little different.  I designed a combat robotics roll and write game.  If you don't know what a roll and write game is, think Yahtzee.  Basically a game that involves rolling dice and then decide what to do with the values and write them down.

It is heavily inspired by Robot Arena 2 which is why I'm bringing it to this community.  I love that game and have been looking for a modern replacement ever since.  I've also always wanted to make a tabletop game version so this is my attempt.  You can check it out here:

It is currently part of a roll and write design contest.  You can vote here:

I really like the idea of having a Robot Combat board/card game out there. The concept that you came up with has some potential, but I personally feel like it's a bit too complicated, and the robots that are on the cards aren't visually appealing. Overall, I feel that if you rework and simplify the steps, and maybe have cards of parts that are randomly drawn with unique stats for each part instead of drawing it yourself, I think you'll have a game that might appeal to a more wide-spread audience.

Thanks for the feedback!  This was a roll and write, so that is why the drawing.  It is also why the title is "RoboFray: Roll and Write".  I see RoboFray as a franchise that could have other formats.  I've even played with 3d printed models previously.
