Your youtube channel is suspended?

Almost. it's deleted :D

I've already created a new channel, I will post the link here right after I make a video about the studio I'm working at, aaand a short video about my self. since someone said that these two things are very important.

That arena's looking nice, as is the sawblade. The big spiky ramming plate gives me an arcade-style feel, it's not the kind of thing you'd see on a real-world combat robot but exactly the sort of thing that looks cool in video game form.

the main damage mechanics will stay arcade as it was in the classic game.

HAVOKUNITY.png

Guess what physics engine was used in RA2? Guess what physics engine will be used in unity from today?

12 years ago Havok was my favorite physics engine to make physical simulations in 3Ds Max, until someday they decided to use MassFX instead. it was buggy as hell, and not comfortable to use at all. then I've tried to use PhysX plugin, but it wasn't any better.

I believe it was possible to make PhysX and MassFX to work properly, and i was simply doing something wrong... But, I never had such a problem with havok

So, I'm happy that I'm finally able to use Havok in Unity. it's still available only as a preview package, but i hope they will release it before Closed Alpha Test of Alternative Arena.

Welllllllllllllllllllll.. a lot of work have been done since my last reply, I didn't post any news for a while, BECAUSE most of the progress was in the game logic,
and screenshots with C# code is not that satisfying thing to see..

SO. I started to work on the workshop itself, and it looks beautiful already.
now I'm working on the User Interface design inside the workshop,
expect for some tasty screenshots very soon :)

for now, i'll leave here few screenshots of the future components. it still has no texture, and it's too high poly, so i have some work to do there.
But, just look at it:

So we've got... a drum, a flamethrower, a petrol tank, an extender anchor (I think), a control board, and... a motor with gearbox? Looking pretty good!

Maybe do what ra2 does, collison mesh for these parts should be low poly
Maybe that helps, either way, stuff loks awesome

ofcourse, the collision mesh itself is gonna be extremely low poly, or made of primitives(box, sphere, cylinder etc). because we need a good performance with massive amounts of physical bodies

Bad news guys... this Friday my PC decided to die.
it began with BSOD, and ended up with 1 short and 5 long beeps on my motherboard when trying to turn it on :(
i haven't found what those beeps mean, but maybe you know, it's GA X99 ud4 retail motherboard.

anyway, I need money to fix it, so I'll get some job on a freelance, which means I'll spend less time on this project.
i have backed up everything from the hard drive, and I'll keep working on it, but spending less time than I planned :(

It might be bad ram, try using only one stick if you have more than one
