Alternative Arena: Design to Destroy

Hi everyone.
So. my patience has over. i decided to develop my own game that inspired by Robot Wars and Robot Arena.

There is no much to show yet, but the work is in progress.

I decided not to use Patreon for my  project. i want to make a classic website with single donation options that does not require from people to register anywhere.
i have a domain already, just need to find someone to make all the design.

You should use the attachments system to embed the images into your post, rather than linking to an external site. It's more convenient, plus I won't get confronted with ads for "sexy women in my area" while I'm on my lunch break at work. :dumb)

Judging from those screenshots, your game's still in a pretty early phase, but you've got component placement done and that's really the backbone of any bot-building system. I'll check out your Patreon when I get home, and I'll definitely keep an eye on this project.

It looks like you have a good start on the botlab, but it's not a good look to come to the forums so extremely early in the development process with little to show and immediately start pushing your patreon. Your post reads more like an advert for your patreon than anything else.

Regardless, I hope you stick with it. The way you can "glue" components onto the outside of the chassis is cool, if you can get that working for glueing components onto each other that would be awesome!

Not even a complete bot and I'm already in love. I think this project has some potential with further updates and improvements. Maybe in the future, when I see more of this game's potential, I can hand some money over.

I'm using unity 2019.

i like this engine, but sometimes it makes me crazy.. i realized that there is no Cylinder collider in unity  :facepalm:
it has Capsule Collider, which behaves like a sphere when you try to make a wheel out of it..

I mean, you're already further than I ever got when I tried prototyping a robot combat game in Unity!

That's a nice-looking wheel, too.

The one basic feature missing from every robot combat game since Extreme Destruction, and this guy just comes outta nowhere and implements it in a day. This is looking more and more promising with each screenshot (though of course, it's still early days).

Sure, there will be movable mirrors for X/Y and Z axis, Grid snapping with resizable size, and radial fit - will be useful for those who like their bot to look like UFO  :mrgreen:

My friend is already working on UI/UX design. it's going to be beautiful and intuitive :)))
and recently i discovered that one of my clients is a Robot Arena fan!
and since he's a professional 3D designer, i asked him to make some components, and he has agreed!

past week I've planned which features i should add next, and what I'm going to make in the Pre-Pre Alpha Build.

- First of all, I''ll make some premade hull designs.
the feature of creating a custom hull from drawing, will be added later.

- Construction in the bot lab.

- Wiring/Controls.

- Test area with different obstacles!


And yes.. i need a logo for the game  :vista:
I'll try to make something.
I'll be glad to hear(or to see) some suggestion for the logo xD
