Well I saw this thread and though I'd look for my old stash and I didn't find any of my decks but I did find a load of rares, not sure if any of them are of any significance but there is an original slifer the sky dragon in there and all of the others are from the GX era and before, some of them seem to be ultra rare but sort of embossed, there's 14 of them in there, there are also a lot of ultras and I'll probably be selling them soon to pay for minor tom's upgrades if I get any decent money for them.

Also, I got to ask. Are cards from the old days when it was all hyped up and stuff still good now? I mean, in like, that the newer stuff didn't completely ruin the balance and all.

They gotta sell new cards, so a good 80% of the old cards become obsolete, and the super powerful ones get banned. Look at the 4-star monsters to see what I mean - there was a time when Gemini Elf was a rare. I've looked into selling my old cards and they're barely worth anything.

I see. That's kinda sad since I'm pretty fond of my old cards. I know about strong 4-star monsters, since I also have Kaiser Sea Horse, and I'd say that monsters like Mystical Elf are also pretty strong with a 2000 DEF. Oh well.

Lol at some of the forbidden cards. I can get into Change Of Heart since it is pretty nasty, but I don't get how even a card like Last Will is no longer allowed. That card is only interesting when using weaker low level monsters instead of strong level 4 monsters. Makes it look like they are just wining over cards that they may have too much trouble with... Somehow.

Pretty sure it had to do with things like Sangan, but I dunno. I remember reading why it was banned somewhere before, but IDK if I can find it...

I don't really get the whole banning of cards anyway. They were made to be part of this game and there are still ways to counter them. Also looking at that list, I'm surprised the Type Zero Magic Crusher isn't there while I would say that that is a powerful trap card.
I really see no logic here.

Type Zero Magic Crusher is situational, and a waste of resources. It's not banworthy at all.
And most of the cards on the list are there for specific reasons.

Also Will was banned because of Cat Format.
Hell, even if it came off the list today, it would still be nuts.

I have no idea what Cat Format is. Then again, not sure if I care that much.
Either way, as long as I just keep it to... Where it isn't applied, I can use the cards I want.

I picked up one of my old Yugioh games today. The AI's a bit silly about Partician of Darkness; they'll attack as if they don't know its effect, I just have them march their entire team into suicide.

Really? It's gotten that bad with the community that people would just (possibly 'rage')quit over someone using that (or other forbidden) card? I guess for this generation or whatever it's all normal and sure I'll get into understanding that. Just for someone just picked it back up after not looking back at my old stuff for years, and now gets to know all of this... I hope you can understand that to me this seems pretty sad. I won't complain about it, it's useless to do so and will only piss people off. To me it's just... Weird, and something to get used to.

those of us that have been playing the game for this long and have been through every format change know how overpowered certain cards are

if you agree to play traditional format with somebody beforehand, that's one thing. but if you just activate it against a random opponent do not expect positive reactions.

@Kill: Unless its on even grounds, since if both players are using Chaos Emperor, then both of them will expect it.
But if only 1 person is using him, then the other will be annoyed to no end about it.

I suppose that would work. Have to admit that I know cheese about this Dueling Network, though I'll find out when looking myself. Would it also have the option to, like, filter who you want to play with or rather, what format you'd want to face?

Rated duels, for if you want to get EXP n' junk
Unrated, which is the same Advanced Format as Rated, but it's on a less serious level.
Traditional, which is where every banned card is@1. This one is also unrated.
Unlimited. Every card is @3. This one is more of an experimental section since it lets people play with past formats(assuming you built your deck on that level). Other then that, if your facing people at random, expect a lot of half-assed FTK.dek. Again, this one is also unrated.

Finishing up Constellars, ordered some extra MSTs, bought quasar. Some other stuff too.
