I now know how to at least duplicate weapons, making Gravedigger's 2-tonne hydraulic ram from the "Lifting Arm"! Adjusting the position of the arm wasn't too hard :)

I know this topic is old, and the forum is largely inactive in most places, but I wanted to ask something about this game.

I recently put the non-patched version of Robot Wars: Arenas of Destruction (v1.0) into the game folder (I discovered I have two copies of the game that are different prints of the disc with both versions 1.0 and 1.2, see photo attached).

So, to the question; Has anybody got the game's sound effects to work for the in-battle weapon sounds in the un-patched, 1.0 version of the game? I have never got it to work. The only solution for me at the moment is to patch the game to 1.2.

EDIT: I read on an archived forum for arenasofdestruction.com that you need to delete the system.dat which holds many settings for the game, restart and then run the game in 640x480 to keep it from disabling the sound effects. Weird.

You seem very knowledgeable about this game (Arenas of Destruction)
Mind if I pick your brain a little so I can figure out a way to make the house robots playable on the PS2 version? I cannot seem to find the IDs/values of the player robots so that I can try other values. I usually do this method for fighting games, where it's just changing a single byte to play as that character ID.

Hoping you might have some ideas as to what the playable robots' IDs are in the PC version so I could try searching for them on the ps2 version with cheat engine.

UPDATE: I have figured out how to put the house robots in the player garage on the ps2 version! All that is left now is to figure out how to make Sgt. Bash's pincer work instead of the saw blade while still keeping the blade on the back, do you have any insights into how that may be done/what to look for in cheat engine to achive that like what you did on the PC one? I instead removed his saw blade entirely, this made the pincer work on the front like normal like in the second vid.

I've tried this as well... but never made it. I will see if I can get this going on my PlayStation 3 with my PlayStation 2 copy of the game as well. Thanks for keeping this thread alive by the way. I think this game is awesome, along with Extreme Destruction as well.

Edit: Have you made this work on the actual console? I never did any modding on the console version(s) of the game(s)...

Edit2: Also, I've been trying to get this to work on the Game Boy Advance version of Extreme Destruction, but no go... I would want to get the house robots playable there as well.

I have discord if you wish to discuss more. And this would work on real PS2 hardware too, yes. But I did this on PCSX2. I have the mod saved to memory card (I couldn't find an ID since this game doesn't seem to use them.. I might be wrong though, but I couldn't find anything like an ID so I had to get creative and sort of lucked out.)

GBA Version is what I am trying next, same story so far though: no IDs due to the create-a-bot system being in place. So the only way it's going to work is if I find the specified data per-robot, then copy it to the slot of a custom bot. This is how I did it for the ps2 version, but I was able to find that data on PS2 version thanks to the House Robots having their price listed in game despite not being purchasable - that then lead me to their robot data so I could start moving them to my garage.

Do you have discord? Also I'd love to try ED sometime! But have no idea how to set it up for pc.
