Robot Champions

Wondered what the forum thought of this game... And couldn't find a thread. Now in open alpha with 4 different driveable bots, online play coming tomorrow I think?

Got a super arcadey feel which I'm totally down with, probably more than a building-focussed game these days. Great fun and should be awesome online!

Looks too arcadey and fantastical for my tastes. Props to the devs for offering a demo though, I wish more games did that these days.

Lack of botlab and the arcadey feel + aesthetic doesn't really appeal to me, but it's great we've got two robot combat games in development with devs who actually seem to care about their product rather than just look to make a quick buck.

Not really our thing, closer to a Robot Combat equivalent of fighting games like Tekken, Street Fighter etc rather than a robot-builder, but hell if it isn't good to have actually decent robot combat games being made.

Enjoyed it for what I played. Not Ra2, but it's a solid alternative

Their Kickstarter went up today, and for 24 hours only you can grab the £75 tier for 60% off.
Think it's important the entire robot combat community supports all ventures like this and RR2 - after all, a runaway success could mean certain UK shows being revived... who knows :)

36 grand in a bit over a month seems a pretty ambitious target to me.

Been playing more of it recently doesn’t lag when I have it at the lowest quality, pretty fun now that I got it to run well.

Backed it. I had too much fun playing the demo. It's not RA2 but it's fun in it's own right and serves a purpose of bringing combat bots to the masses. The success of this game is good for other games and for the sport overall. Happy to see it's already almost a third of the way to it's goal.
I built that big robot on that TV show that time

Could definitely see it become a huge success on the Switch. It's like a mix of Super Smash, Skylanders, and Battlebots.

They cancelled the Kickstarter as they realised they weren't going to make the funding goal
