Well diminishing return basically killed everything that has decent speed/mobility, now everything moves like crap.

Guess this is the end of Robocraft for me.

Also treads are garbage, just like all the components they added for the past few months. They haven't introduced anything useful since plasma.

I still think the game is too raw. It gets boring very easily. Only time will tell what future changes will happen.

None. They are so slow they make gunbeds seem fast. They are basically just useless sitting ducks that can't get from point A to point B.

I see one way to make it usable. When a vehicle uses treads it automatically buffs whatever armor cubes it carries, like a kind of bonus. So it sacrifices speed and maneuverability for extra armor, like a tank is supposed to be. Of course some limitations should be applied. Vehicles that have treads cannot equip wheels, hovers, legs, wings or jets to avoid exploitation. Nanos should take longer to heal them.

It's just an idea but I think it would suddenly make treads useful.

I didn't expect to have to necro this thread. Sorta.

Welcome me to T10. This is my chariot.

Chaos Theory. I ride it close to the floor and strike fast. Rudimentary tri-forcing and a straight line speed of 192km/h (reading thanks to that new free speedometer, I know booster-only is faster but this feels good), 8 thrusters mean 0 to 190 km/h in 2 or 3 seconds, and it can also go that speed uphill. I've seen it go 240~290km/h while turning (I assume it's because the hoverblades aren't going maximum speed in THAT direction so they kick in.) I suppose the one big flaw other then previous tier armor is 5 guns. It used to be wheeled (so nothing on the underside) but it only went 120km/h that way. I'll figure something out, but on my winning streak, I'm in no hurry.

The treads seem to sort of stick to the terrain and has massive hill climbing ability but walkers do the same with better stats.
