OH NO I CANT GET MY CALL OF DOOTY :'(

OH NO I CANT GET MY CALL OF DOOTY :'(
I am more worried about the fact it would literally destroy the indie game market. I don't even like most Indie games, but people have a right to make them. Same with mods.

Hopefully Britain won't do a similar thing, BBFC is superior to ESRB IMHO, but they don't rate every single game.

Yeah, this could be a major issue. Really the whole "violent games are bad" thing is a dated and well-disproved idea so I don't get this.

How? This doesn't even affect independent online distributors, only stores that distribute physical copies of the games. And frankly they deserve this law, because this is something they ought to have been doing without being asked.

I hope you know how utterly idiotic you sound. This is the most flagrant First World Problem I've ever heard.

tbh I don't even think it will get passed in the first place. I wasn't so serious about the hurr mah freedoms remark either.

I guess someone will set up an overseas site where you can buy indie games, with the servers in a country that allows it.
-
This bill seems pointless. Any sane retailer would only stock games that had a ESRB rating, and no sane console maker would dare let an unrated game on a retail disc, and most retailers already wont sell unrated games to anyone under 18, and in that case the parents buy the game for them anyway.

Fair dues, I have trouble puttign the voice to the words sometimes, so sorry about that.

Pretty sure ESRB ratings are already mandated on all mass-produced games.
-
Typical people blaming video games as a result of shootings so they try to become stricter on having them.
And yeah Indie devolpers are screwed because of it but as of right now its only in America.

I don't give a sh** about CoD. This wouldn't even effect me anyway because I buy and play all of my games on steam. I still feel that it is completely unnecessary, it's signing a bill to prevent something that can easily be stopped with good parenting. Not to mention there is no direct link between vidya gaems and real life violence, so its just a complete waste of time in general.
-
Or they can make thier parents buy it.

Or the lazy ass parents will get the game for them voluntarily so they don't have to hear the spoiled brats whine about not being able to get it.

"these parents are dumb so we should waste time and money signing bills to prevent them from being dumb lol xd"
yeah okay

That's the main issue with today's generation is that the parents don't give enough of a sh** to actually tell their kids "No you can't get that" or discipline them when the tantrum ensues over it.
