really excited about this one
may fill the void now that TF2 is going further and further down the tubes

one of my friends at school who got the weekend beta let me play it and it's a lot of fun I have to say. needs a lot of teamwork and competent play to do well, which is a good thing.

it's a class based FPS similar to TF2 but with some good moba elements.
it's in beta right now (an actual good beta) and should come out sometime next spring.

I hardly think Blizzard are going for the same market with this as SC2 or whatever.

Kinda like someone going to buy a Yamaha guitar and someone saying 'come on, if you're getting a Yamaha, get a keyboard, or even a motorcycle!'

that being said, this game looks stinkin gooooooooooood. I don't think i've ever been as impressed with a development cycle. They've done everything right. Only way I can see them screwing this up now is if they add paywalls down the road.

its got room for even more diverse playstyles than tf2, I'm sure even rts players could find something they like here. TF2 is already a territorial control game in FPS form, this one is very close. You don't need to be a twich shooting master to be good at overwatch as long as you have good game sense and pick a class that doesnt rely on those skills (ie mercy/reinhardt etc).

I'm liking what I'm seeing thus far.  The multiple classes, the classes with diverse strategy, the visuals, and the game overall looks really fun to play.  I probably won't get this day one, but I feel I might get it sometime later down the road.

so which character are you guys most excited to play? I actually really liked zenyatta robot monk guy when I tried it out for a few hours. I sucked at zarya but i really want to play her again too and get good. I really like tanks.

You should look into Battleborn, I know a lot of people don't really trust Gearbox but it actually looks decent and people have played it live on stream. There's solo and co-op to go with the competitive modes but it also has gear and a skill tree for every character.

For me I need more than just competitive modes in games and it really does just look like way more content compared to Overwatch, it'll even have more characters at launch. So if you like those kinds of game I recommend keeping an eye on it also I enjoy some games from both Blizzard and Gearbox so not being a fanboy or anything it just seems like more bang for ya buck.

played like a game of it today but it was really good, fun and nice bright colours mean reacting to things happening is easier than murky fps

If Blizzard supports it properly this game could have a decent eSports scene. They already have a couple of CS pros and quake/reflex players switching over trying to go pro.
