Played Xbox Minecraft round my friend's house yesterday (local multiplayer, three people) and it was surprisingly fun, easy to control, and other than the incredibly small text in the inventory, the size of each screen doesn't hinder much (that I could see).
The small text could be due to the size of the screen you were using, coupled with the fact that you were on split screen.

My friend Will and I had some fun with our Minecraft server.

See it here

Of course, being the server's owner I was able to just make a local backup to tear up, but it was fun nonetheless.

Yes, my house remained unharmed.

The screen definitely makes a difference. I recommend at least a 30-35 inch display.

I hear that. I used to have a small CRT, but once I upgraded to a 32 inch, LCD-LED TV, I had no problems with on-screen text.

I played the trial version of the Xbox version. It is pretty epic. The feel of the game seems enhanced in comparison to the PC game, but I don't know why. The tutorial level is also quite well set-out for new players, giving them the tips about different blocks, etc., as well as letting players sample a bit of all the biomes. I wasn't really expecting the game to be quite as different as it is from the PC version.

I think they did some graphical tweaks for block rendering. It does help that this is for a single spec whilst PC Minecraft had to work for a range of PCs. Anyway, how are the controls for fighting creepers?
Better than GK since 2009.

Just keep spamming Right Trigger. Other than that, the controls are good. There isn't a sprint button, though, which is surprising.

Well, they won't have a sprint mechanic until they have a hunger mechanic.

Nothing to do with the size of the screen here, when the guy started it, his inventory was fine, and you could easily read it, with three people joined, it was rather difficult to read, but it was still extremely fun (mainly because I didn't need to go into my inventory much, and the crafting icons were big enough to be recognisable). I was surprised that they had slimes though...too bad that slimeballs are pretty much useless (from what I can tell).
Yes that sequence of words I just said made perfect sense.

I, for one, love the lack of hunger. Does anyone know of a mod that gets rid of it for PC?

SM, I will collect the 3 minutes 20 seconds of my life that you now owe me on Friday. If you can't find a way to do that by then, I will have to find a pointless video of that length to show you.

I saw that the upcoming patch includes 'big biomes,' so I wondered, how big? I made a world with the weekly build and was placed on the corner of a desert. I could see other biomes on two sides of it and quickly found a third. Not seeing the fourth, I opted to fly (in creative mode) to the far end and time my way back. Just getting there told me it was pretty darn big, but timing my way back told me how big. It took me 2 minutes, 46 seconds of creative mode flight time to get back to my starting end. I didn't know what that meant in actual size, and nowhere I found would tell me the creative mode's flight speed. So, I made a test track and timed flying 150 meters (each block being a meter, of course). It took me either 15.1 or 14.9 each time, telling me that it was about 10 meters a second. Putting that to the time I got and that desert was about 1,660 meters long (or over 1.5x the size of a full Xbox Minecraft map). Maybe. My math sucks, so it all might be wrong. In any case, that was definitely a big biome.

The biomes are big as in a few thousand blocks big.

Also big enought so that you reasilze how few sea biomes there are.
Put this onto your signature if you were part of this crappy fad in '03.

Decided to make a Robot Wars arena. It is more like an earlier RW arena. Like series 2 or 3.

This is just a prototype. I know it is small and doesn't have any hazzards. Just wanted to get the basic blueprint down.

So, any thoughts or  suggestions I should do in the next (full) version?
