No Man's Sky
« on: August 19, 2014, 05:36:48 PM »
This game hasn't come out yet, but my god... When it comes out I will never EVER leave my house again.
Infinite worlds with infinite biodiversity, space exploration, huge fleet battles, absence of loading screens... all that with freakin' amazing graphics! It just blew my mind 10 times.

Had a look at it the other day and it looks stunning although the infinite worlds is a bit overwhelming for me. It's pretty much if Spore, Journey and Star Wars had a baby.

I'll put this here about another game I'm so looking forward to that looks like a hybrid of Studio Ghibli, Ico and Wind Waker. It's called Rime.
Take a look:

I've moved to other forums. Under a different name. This is where it all began.

Looks interesting, though nothing will beat No Man's Sky for me right now. It has everything I wanted for a space game, except perhaps customization, which is a shame.

Is Rime just for PS4? I don't have one, only PC (and old consoles).

I was first looking at another space exploration game called Rodina. Much simpler than No Man's Sky with less content, less graphics but it has the same idea of massive space exploration as basis and has customization. Plus it's already available as an Alpha or free Demo on Steam. I was already looking at Rodina with googly eyes and then No Man's Sky came along...

http://www.geek.com/games/no-mans-sky-wipes-your-discoveries-after-two-weeks-1668222/

"One of the biggest selling points of No Man’s Sky for many folks was that they could name solar systems, planets, animals, plants, and regions within planets to whatever they wanted (provided it was family friendly, of course).  In what seems to be a recurring theme for this game, it turns out that this feature isn’t exactly what was promised as several players are reporting that, after two weeks, their discoveries get erased from the game."

Or not, they still sold an assload of copies at AAA price. Even if a ton get refunded, they made plenty of money off of NMS. The problem comes when they release their next game and nobody buys it.

is space engineers good now?  I tried it a year or so ago when planets first showed up and it was still really awkward to get anything done in survival mode and /extremely/ unforgiving
