"Drive Systems:
Wheel Tool and Thruster Tool ONLY.
For walkers, Motors only."

They are allowed.

To show that I'm not dead, today, I made some simple robots.

In other news, I shall be making a written tutorial with pictures because fraps doesn't want to work.

So, just say what you want me to make a tutorial of and it shall be done.

Sure.

It's done.

If I missed anything, point it out.

Sorry for the DP but this is important.

Before the Tournament:
You will have 30-60 mins to fix and change the weight of the robots on the server. Robots may only be tested before this time and cannot be changed after the first fight has begun!

I thought I would chip-in with a tutorial of my own:

How to do Tank-style Steering.

Setting up your robot like this does not require any thrusters.
(You'll want a controller for this.)

Setting up the wheels:

wheels for the LEFT SIDE of the robot
set forward has DOWN on the left stick
set backward has UP on the left stick

wheels for the RIGHT SIDE of the robot
set forward has UP on the right stick
set backward has DOWN on the right stick

Done! That's it.

After your post about the fixing of bots with weight and such, is the tournament today? Oh no!

Of course not :3

I'll announce it in a post and also change the name of the thread.

An update on KOS' relation to the project:

He's been ignoring me for the last few days and seems to have no interest in this any longer. I have informed him that if he doesn't respond in a week, he's out.

Anyway dudes, here's the workshop to my bot: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=368483810 - Tubthumping Mk2 is ready.

Note; Please don't steal this bot and enter it as your own, and please don't modify it.

someone needs to tell me how to weld stuff so it doesn't wobble around.

A video would be nice

I know how to weld but my creations keep wobbeling.

I want this not to happen:

There is a certain way to weld components together without the wobble, sadly you might have to search this up as I was having the same issue with a plate that was originally on the end of my flipper to ease its way under other bots. So you're not on your own dude.

Well, the weight of the props you're using can cause wobbly connections, and from what I see in the image, you are using a robotic claw piece which has a weight of 650.
650 is pretty high, considering the rest of the props you are using have a low weight of about 50 to 100.
Light props can't support heavy props that well, so glitches will probably occur often.

What you could do to fix this:
•Pick a lighter prop
•Change the weight of the prop
•Pick different supporting pieces
•Use more constraints to hold it in place
•Use the 'No-collide' tool to stop the pieces glitching together

It definitely does work, I just tested again.

One of these could be the problem:
•Had the 'Torque' setting too low
•Had 'Friction' setting to high
•Had 'Toggle' mode on
•The chassis you used was too heavy
•Wired it wrong
•You accidentally changed the rotation of a wheel

Hope this helps. If it does not, tell me and I will make a video showing how to do set it up.

I just wanted to know: are our characters going to ride on top of our robots or are they gonna remote control them from afar?
