I have pre-ordered the 3DS together with the game Persona.
Anyone else here getting the 3DS?
-
I might be- I'm liking the look of Super Street Fighter IV and the new Ocarina of Time.
-
I'm waiting until they start making games that can't be played on my regular DS. Besides, they'll probably drop the price during the holiday season.
-
those are already being made. 3DS is not of the same series as the other DS handhelds. it's a new handheld series.
-
I pre-ordered it yesterday, but don't plan on getting any games for it just yet
-
Cool, but wayyyy too pricey. I mean it's more than the Wii, come on.
-
I'll buy it when it's hacked. Or maybe I should buy and help hacking it... We'll see.

Is there anything electronic that you can't hack nowadays? ;)

Yes. Can't hack a lightbulb.

HAHAHA!
I Don't want the 3DS untill it drops in price (alot). Anyone heard about the new PSP2 thats (suposedly) coming out soon? :P

Yes. Can't hack a lightbulb.
Technically, those are electric.

Yes but you can't hack into it and change it's programing.
-
Probably will get it either on my B-day or Christmas. (I have 2 Gamestop giftcards 25 on each but I'm using them to get something else :P) Planning to get the 3DS Cave Story and the Mario Kart when it comes out. Also maybe the Kid Icarus, IDK.
-
On the topic of "hacking" lightbulbs:

On-topic: I would like to a 3DS and all... But I'm waiting for when they release the Starfoc 64 remake, and that new Paper Mario game for it. THEN I might try and get it.
-
Precisely- they're not "Electronic" in the sense of the programmable kind, but more typical objects powered by a source of electricity, which use a simple command to perform a simple action.
Electronic devices nowadays tend to refer to objects that can be programmed to perform multiple tasks- the ones that can be hacked :P
-
I'm not buying it. I already have a couple of gaming related things I'm buying in the not so distant future.
-
i'm getting it because of Persona remake, upcoming Blazblue game and a new Medarot game that is still in the makes.
-
Does the 3DS let you play regular DS games in 3d? I read somewhere that it can do somehing funky with Pokemon Black/White, but I can't remember what.

I'm guessing you must have special game cartridges for it to do that but i'm happy with my 2 DS Lites thankyouverymuch :gawe:
I just wonder what they'll do to the DS next...
-
it does have backward compatibility, but i don't think it will show normal DS games in 3D then.
and again, the 3DS is not of the same series as the other DS handhelds (NDS, DSlite, DSi and whatever came after then). the 3DS is a completely new handheld line.

I mean anything with DS in it
it is 3DS anyway

That way it is still called DS, but I though it meant something different now. It is different from the DS series, eventhough the looks are a bit of the same.
SotG, you knew what DS in 3DS stood for, right?

*Hi-fives* I <3 the Persona series.
Anyway, I don't really know whether I'll buy one. If I do, it will be when the price drops.
-
I want one, I really reallllllly do. But I'll be damned if I'm paying that much money.
-
How much is it?
-
€250
-
Yeah I'll get one, just not right away.
I didn't get a DS until the DS Lite came out. Everyone else in my family had the regular old DS with the dim screen and didn't want to fork over the cash for a whole new system just for a bright screen. So when I finally got a DS of my own it was kind of a "ha ha, sucks to be you, good things come to those who wait" kind of moment.
I wonder how long it will be until Nintendo makes a 3DS Lite or something similar.
-
You must be pretty strong-willed. I can stop myself from buying the newest game system for a few months after the release date, but I crack as soon as they realease a game I want. (In the case of the 3Ds, it will probably be Paper Mario).
-
I love my original DS, I just don't play it anymore :(
What I really want for 3DS: Paper Mario, Star Fox remake, Resident Evil Mercenaries, and Ocarina of time.
-
if it wasn't for the new Blazblue and Medarot game in the making s and there being a Persona remake, i would have kept my old NDS, you know the first model. i've had it for years now. got it around the time that the DSlite came out.
even these days i am still active with my DS. then i'm either playing Medarot DS or i'm toying around in Korg DS10.
i also love the Advanced Wars games.
-
How much is it?
£230-ish
@PR: 3DS stands for "Three-Dimensional Screen"
-
Meh, my favourite hand-held is still a laptop. :P

i find it rather big for a hand-held.
-
They should make a console which is basically a 3D iPad, strategy games would be awesome on it as you units would pop out of the screen like holograms.

Nah, it was more that I had other games I was still playing at the time and didn't need any new ones.
No doubt that will be the case again with the 3DS, with Pokemon White and Radiant Historia both on my to-play list.
As soon as I had an opening though, I would probably cave for Paper Mario.
-
Paper mario in 3D...
:trollface

Oh man, you don't even know....
I'm secretly an incredible Paper Mario fan.
-
Bump.
Got a 3DS today. No good games out yet, so I'm just been messing around with the stuff it comes with. Interesting so far, will have more info later.
-
What I really want for 3DS: Paper Mario and the Star Fox remake
SOMEONE ELSE ENJOYS THE SAME AWESOME THAT I DO :gawe:
....The Starfox remake better have the same voice actors.
Or at least the same dialog >__>
-
I'll wait for the price to drop, it's not worth it ATM.

That, and the inevitable technical difficulties that plague all newly released video game systems. I never buy a new video game system until after a complaint is released in the mainstream media and the company announced they've fixed the problem.
Also, does anyone know which major stores (if any) have a demo 3DS set up?
-
I heard that the 3DS doesn't work if you close one eye.
Apparently Nintendo is really serious about cracking down on pirates this generation.
YEEEEAAAAAHHHHHHH......
I still want Radiant Historia for the regular ol' DS.
-
I realllllllly wish there were games for this thing...
-
Got my 3DS. Works fine here and got a great game for it. Rabbids 3D. The build in stuff is also damn awesome.

You got Rabbids 3D? In which case, I'll be planning to get Rayman 3D instead to balance it out :approve:
-
Apparently kids are getting them recalled because they are feeling sick when playing.
-
I'm waiting for a) the price to drop and b) Cave Story 3D and Paper Mario to come out
-
I went down to Best Buy the other day and they had a demo 3DS set up.
Franky, I wasn't blown away. I have perfectly standard 20/20 vision but I could not for the life of me get the 3D to focus. The game they had was some flight simulator, I suspect they eschewed gameplay to show off the 3D capabilities. I'm also not seeing any must-buys among the launch titles - the predecessor at least had a port of Super Mario 64 , which I hadn't played the original of.
Graphics were beautiful though, even sans the extra dimension.
