Title: Yugitom's Drunk DSL Showcase
Post by: yugitom on August 08, 2014, 10:17:34 AM: I don't usually make bots anymore, with exceptions being Homicidal Intentions and Spin Doctor II for their respective tournaments, but when I do build, I'm usually drunk. All the bots in this showcase may not be built by me drunk but the majority will. Also, considering I barely build and I'm not an alcoholic, this showcase probably won't be updated often.

The reason this has a smartzone is because I did a rumble between this and the upcoming 3 other bots on YouTube for a laugh.

Don't know where the name came from. It may be because of the robot's chassis shape is like a King of the Hill shape.

This guy is my favourite of the bunch. I don't know what MIOOP stands for.

When you're drunk, it's incredibly fun. When I try to do it normally, I just get really bored.

Alright, so I have never really been serious when making bots and the process in making them wouldn't really have much thought or care into it. When making bots in the past, I would probably either be bored or drunk, leading to very lackluster desgins. 'La Magra' is the first, I would like to say, serious bot but I went for a VERY simple design just to start off with. In other words, this bot was made to test whether I can make an effective wedge, whether I could make a very fast but controllable bot and to test my skinning skills. I think I did fairly well with what I wanted to accomplish with this bot. One thing that bugs me about this bot is that the chassis goes above the tornado wedge and it doesn't look good. I know I can remedy this by rebuilding the bot with a slightly shorter chassis height but I don't think it is worth it for a bot that I am just starting out with. Also, I was going for an IRL look, is there anything that doesn't make this IRL? I will definitely start to try and make more IRL bots with different and more complex looks but, with what's going on in my life right now, I settled for a wedge/ram bot for now.

Thanks. Yeah, I really had to compensate with the skin for a lack of weapons and stuff.

Agreed. I'd personally extend the chassis out a bit and give it one of those 180 degree hammers, like The Judge.

Not really a serious build, considering I made the bot half asleep. I'll take all criticism into consideration. The skin was quickly made this morning to make it look pretty. Everything about the bot should be in the splash. Also, would you consider this IRL? I am quite the bad judge at this stuff, so please tell me. Oh yeah, the hammer was effe'd on there. Middle burst is a judge and the rest are mag snappers.

Post by: yugitom on May 17, 2015, 03:06:23 PM: The hammer is in the plow for damage and the plow is there for protection (the hammer contributes to protection too, I suppose.) I use the snapper to self-right and to give it a wedge.
