That many weapons?

On a perm 80?

I feel sorry for that Perm 80.

Those upper weapons won't hit anything. Take the top part off, and get a better weapon motor. Also one spin motor requires only the energy of one ant battery.

Unrealistic, change DSL axles to door hinge wedges. Use bsg's instead of JX's, make the chassis longer/smaller.

Extender's go through the batteries when flush (DSL axles)

Actually, I've gotta test that. Axle Mounts Vs. Metal Hinges for wedges. Thanks for giving me a project, Wolfsbane.

We all used skirt hinges once upon a time (around BBEANS 4), where soon after we learned that most axle wedges are better. Then Urjak used Metal Hinges in RAW and the rest is history.

Hahahaha and that little harmless newbie wants to beat me with this. Hahahaha.

No srsly, we just spent the last day trash talking about a fight.

But there is a probability WB is just claiming to fight me with an awful bot, then change for a much better bot, just to try and trick me. Though somehow I doubt this boy has any DSL training, and therefore the issue of our battle is near certain.

lol it's pretty bad actually.

waaaaaaay too much extender work, you can make the chassis bigger (YES, BIGGER) to fit the e-tek's in the chassis and get rid of the pointless and weak extenders and give it more chasiss hp (you'd want more armour aswell, plastic one is gonna get you ohko'd easily) and get rid of the dsl bars on the side and irons to get more hammers on the front (segment the bars to have a few more AP's on the front) and get better wheels. You can get rid of 1 or 2 ants (only 1 would be best imo). You can put some ME's on teh front of the chassis to put the bar on instead of what you are doing atm.

2WD Eteks with Technos would be enough for this design. Get rid of all the pointless extender work/side stuff, make the chassis big enough to fit the motors inside, and add a LOT more weaponry.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Anyways, honestly ? It fails. Doesn't mean you can't improve it though, nor that you are stuck at rock bottom DSL level.

First rule : SIMPLIFY EXTENDER WORK. VERY IMPORTANT. Second rule : With that done, add moar weapon weight. You have barely enough for a MW rammer, and i've seen LW rammers that had as much weapons as this one. Third rule : use better wheels such as tornados, technos or vlads.

And actually the eteks can go outside the chassis. As long as you add full sheets to protect them.

Battery setup is fine. At least you got this straight.

Looks good though.

oh god what Kurt Wylde has earned 20% warning for bad advice in a showcase.

got 2 questions about this bot.

1. does it break  the  realistic rule?
2. how can i improve it?

btw, even though it has weak weapon motors, it still gets the job done.

Steel 5, 8 ants.

From what I can see, it looks pretty realistic. You can use technos for wheels, make your chasis smaller. get heavier weapon motors, use multi extenders instead of baseplate anchors, and take away 1 or two ants. You might want to use an armor other than steel 5 but I'm not sure what.

Swat the anchors for ME's. Shrink the chassis. Probably change the wheels too.

Change the wheels to techno destructo wheels, Swap the blades for something else, get metal hinge wedges instead of the axles, shrink the chassis, swap the motors for atleast perm 132's (they get the job done a lot quicker and are stronger) and use something like plastic 5, i think that should be good enough for this (might want a bit of frontal protection though). Oh and use ME's instead of baseplate extenders.

It's pretty decent. Needs stronger weapon motors and better wheels.

First Round Finale from BBEANS 4. Not as fast as WTF, Mate!?, but still quite nippy.

Insane speed will not make up for the fact that it only has 60kg worth of weaponry. So yeah, it's neither IRL nor truly battle-effective.

I'd just use 1 ME per motor, it's easy to do and saves weight.

but it doesnt look good at all, irl is mainly about aesthetically pleasing your audiance with nice weapon flow and no weapon spam (aka no "MOAR RAZORS"), plus the slaphappy bars aren't only ineffective, they look REALLY out of place as well as the tribar
Title: Re: Wolfsbane's DSL showcase!
Post by: MassimoV on May 11, 2012, 06:26:14 PM
It's not IRL at all. No one would build that IRL. Especially how the tribar is all uneaven and the weapon choice.

and also i don't think that anyone IRL would have access to 3 slap happy bars and they just look completely out of place

Fresh bots.

Basically, I came up with an idea.

Mako + Nightmare + 4WD = ???

It's a mess of extender work, but I'm happy with it. Only really built it to relax.

Plastic 1, and yes, those are NPC Fasts with Techno wheels. Only thing is, there's only about 160kg in weapons, so I guess it's art.
Title: Re: Wolfsbane's DSL showcase!
Post by: Reier on November 24, 2015, 01:24:45 AM
I'm worried it's too fast for a VS and doesn't have a wide enough base
Title: Re: Wolfsbane's DSL showcase!
Post by: Pwnator on November 24, 2015, 02:18:14 AM
Your extender work is too messy to be better than Mako. You can build everything off of 2 halfsheets and 6 (or less) extenders. With all the weight you have saved, you can now use Perm 132s.

Edit: Also, you're better off with shell panels for the Nightmare-style look instead of the skis and stuff.
Title: Re: Wolfsbane's DSL showcase!
Post by: madman3 on November 24, 2015, 02:53:49 AM
4WD works if you're using a smaller disc style VS, maybe, but probably not for this. I'd just attach the perms to multiextenders on the chassis myself but I'm not a VS builder typically.
Title: Re: Wolfsbane's DSL showcase!
Post by: cephalopod on November 24, 2015, 05:25:27 AM
Definitely way too fast. You'll be throwing yourself over taking tight turns with the bars spinning. Pretty much everything I'd say has been covered, but as a (slightly obvious) aside, get those poly extenders upgraded! 1 or 2 hits and your weapon motor is gone.
Title: Re: Wolfsbane's DSL showcase!
Post by: Naryar on November 24, 2015, 06:31:02 AM
that must be the most unstable vs ever.

oh and yes it's borderline unrealistic dsl due to having more than 100kg of weapons and motors on a polycarbonate extender.

i said borderline dsl unrealistic.

Also polycarbonate extenders holding huge things are ugly. I mean it looks like the motors float in space.
