Yeah that would probably benefit the design. I still like it alot though.

^This.
I agree with you, though. Putting the drive on a skirt on the back would decrease the amount of vulnerable extender work.

Put your drive and stabilizers on an Alu 40cm sheet.

done that, 2 hws now

1. HW to match the previous bots, if anyone can think of a better drive set up please tell me :P
2. HW version of that flamer/sns i posted a while back. Works very well, 2 poly sheets on the bottom for protection and 6 flamethrowers.

First one looks awesome, but unrealistic. I'd try to get the 40cm skirts a bit wider, then you should be able to attach the motors directly, while avoiding the stabilisers being cut. Second looks even more awesome, but looks a bit heavy for a HW. Insides?

Not to mention the entire weapon interescts the half sheet. Nice idea, but it needs to be done differently for it to be realistic :P

I would like the first one better if the weapon was lower, or in some other position where it doesn't completely cut through the stabilizers.  Just attach the angled skirts directly to the half-sheet, and use the second attachment point on the skirts to attach the drive motors.  At the angle you'll need to have the skirts at, you might need another extender to make sure the wheels are touching the ground.

The second one looks okay, seems underweaponed, but that's probably because of the flamethrowers.

In my mind i couldn't think of another setup, my mind just went blank. Sadly that's as low as i can get it without making it have a super weak point (or i cant think of one), even with one it would probably be too low.

The second one weighs 799.5 iirc, perfectly fine. the insides are 4 ants (could do with one more, not that hard) and a medium or small air tank. I should probably upgrade those npc's to fasts.

Try using DSL bars for the drive and stablisers- it would make the stance wider and would not need the hex plates to put the drive on. However, I'm more worried about you fixing the fact that the weapon still intersects the halfsheet. xD

blegh i'll just use a few ant blades until it doesn't intersect i guess, i just hope it doesn't scrape along the floor :P

I think a setup with two multi's and a caster would be better- then you could raise the stabilisers to the right level. And to be honest, a caster is plenty for an undercutter.
