Yeah it's a bit annoying but I just can't really see any way to drop the 250-ish KGS I'd need without making the bot totally useless. Might have a crack at it today nonetheless though.

Here's an HW front hinge design I've had in my mind for a bit now. Held off making it initially because I've made a lot of flippers lately but oh well. TWMR2s for drive and a storm burst for the flipper, which makes it surprisingly powerful due to the long reach of the arm. Front and sides are all steel with the rest being aluminium.

Here's one. Balance single tooth 4WD drum. No BFE magic cuz I ain't about that shizzlewhizzle so I balanced it by trial and error. Weapon is powered by a single flatmotor so super underpowered but I can't bring myself to use multiple of them since I found out how scummy and broken they are, plus it would defeat the point of having an STD. Drive is 2 TWMR2s and 2 regular TWMRs which works pretty well actually. Not invertable and no srimech so it's not competitive at all but I think it came out looking really cool. Will throw it in Destruction evolution as a free win for whoever faces it.

Double post but I've made some pretty significant upgrades to Cosecha. The single flatmotor just wasn't cutting it for the drum so I switched to an Etek, which also necessitated making the drum larger to fully encase it. Much fiddling about later and here's the result. A drum that's about as balanced, still single tooth and may actually do some stuff now. Only downside is I had to drop the front bits from Steel to Ti to get weight but it should still be fine

I could definitely do a srimech if I dropped to 2WD yeah but I'm not sure if I want to sacrifice the speed. It's certainly not the best drumbot combat wise but it should at least be okay though. We'll see how it does

Here's an underweight SHW that'll probably crash the game if you look at it wrong. Perm 132 for the disc and 4X NPC fasts for the drive. Wedge is all steel and basically everything else is Alu.

Been stuck in t a bit of a rut in terms of building lately but I finally came up with something that I think looks okay. This is Cause and Effect. Should really have used that name for a cluster but I'm not planning on building one of those any time in the near or distant future so I used it on this because it sounds cool.

Otherwise the only negative I can think of with this thing is that the panel underneath the flipping arm should be apart of the arm itself.

Otherwise the only negative I can think of with this thing is that the panel underneath the flipping arm should be apart of the arm itself.
The panel not being part of the flipper was deliberate. I wanted to do something more along the lines of gruff from this year's Robogames or the original BB season 3.0 Hexadecimal or where the flipper is pretty much just a skeletal frame rather than a big sheet

Ah, I see.  I still feel like the robot looks a lot weirder when the robot has its weapon fired, but I guess I'm not the best person to come to when it comes to talking about aesthetics.  Still love the robot.

I may play around making some variations on this bot to see what looks best in the future. Thanks for the feedback though!

I wanted to try and do a spinner with sir killalot claws for the teeth that didn't look awful, and this is what I came up with. 2 TWMR2s for drive but it has massive wheels so it's pretty nippy. Wedge is a mix of steel and Ti while everything else is aluminium. Perm 132 for the weapon, 799KG exactly
