Like I said in discord. Still think it should be wider because then it can grab stuff effectively. Other than that, looks hella clean as usual and some nice arms.

I've always wanted to make an S3 style bot in RA2 so I decided to give it a shot today. Started building one with discs and shell panels before I realised no wheels were big enough to touch the ground with that method (Or so I thought, because I forgot motorbike wheels existed at that point), so I decided to make on out of a ludicrous amount of extenders instead. This is the result: Uppercut. TWMR2 Drive and a Perm 132 for the disc 2 black batts for power. Almost everything except for the main struts preventing the disc from hitting the ground (which are steel) is aluminium, and it still weighs in at 1192.2 KG. Seems to be fairly effective in combat though and is surprisingly nippy considering it has mid-tier HW drive on an SHW.

Pics:
(No internal pic because it's mostly empty in there and it's absolute murder to disassemble)

Cheers man.

You should still give making one of these type of bots a go though. Would be neat to see how someone else approaches making one of them.

HW version of the previous bot. This is knockout. Downgraded in basically every respect. Perm 80 weapon motor instead of a 132, TWMR drive instead of TWMR2s (Still surprisingly fast though due to the large wheels), and just generally smaller in every dimension. Looks wise though I'm even happier with this one than I am with the last for some reason, though the copper coloured motorbike wheels (Which are there because of weight, I originally used slim wheels but they were too heavy) do mar the looks a bit. 1 black and 1 ant for power, 797.2KG.

Wasn't happy with the performance of that version so I made a few edits to shoehorn a perm 132 in there and replace the beaters with typhoon teeth

YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MANY UPDATES (or double posts for that matter  :gunz:). Made some more changes to make the HW version of the S3 bot more effective, hopefully better looking, and also reduce the number of extenders so maybe it won't give hosts actual cancer if I enter it into anything. Swapped the disc with teeth for a 259 disc, and replaced some clumps of extenders with armour panels instead.

Those bronze wheels stick out like a sore thumb. Can you retexture or change them?

Also, with black bots, put them on a white or transparent background so we can make them out more. Cheers <3

I definitely agree about the bronze wheels being ugly, the only reason I've had to use them is weight. I suppose I could recolour them but I was planning on entering this into some tourneys and it would be a bit of a pain for the hosts if I did recolour them.

Will put my bots on a transparent background from now on though.

No weight to. If I had any spare weight I'd just use slim wheels and avoid the problem entirely

Actually found a spare moment between uni work and trying to sort out my tournament to build a new bot. Rather happy with how this one came out to be quite honest. This is Angstrom. 4WD flipper that initially started as an attempt to make a bot as low as possible but eventually morphed into this. Tailfins at the back are purely for show. Drive is 2 TWMR Drives and 2 TWM3s so its reasonably quick. Weight is 795.3 KG and the flipper is powered by a pair of medium VDMA R/P pistons. Wedge is all Ti, sides are beater bars and top and bottom are a mix of polycarb (purely because it looks cool) and Aluminium.

Pics (now on white backgrounds!):

Edit:
With a bit of rejigging of the internals I was able to make a front hinged version too. Smaller bursts for the flipper but it doesn't seem to have affected it. Also swapped the TWM3 drives for TWMRs so it's actually a little faster in this config. Even has a better wedge too. Did have to get rid of the T H I C C rear tyres though unfortunately.

that moment when at first glance you think "cool rear hinged lifter* then see a front hinged version and your mind just fails to compute the possibility
That guy that listens to your opinion about how to improve his bot but half the time doesn't change anything anyway.

Not really. It was a fairly easy conversion, and the front hinge config is probably more effective due to the much better wedge and stronger drive too.

what i meant was the wedge looked too steep to be a front hinged flipper, although that may just be the picture making it look that way
