Must admit, for a guy that loves srimechs on verts...I'm surprised this doesn't have a srimech! That aside: this looks as great as the rest bud!
No weight or space innit. My srimechs on verts plea is mostly directed at people who try to build uber competitive stuff and then are surprised when it gets bullied by a flipper too. I've fully accepted the fact that this thing is probably gonna get dunked on when it faces a flipper

Thing for Poke's tournament. Rear hinge flipper powered by 2 medium VDMAs. Launches stuff pretty damn well. Drive is 2 NPC fasts and the armour at the front is double thick steel plates so it should be damn tanky. Originally started as a front hinge but I decided to swap it to a rear hinge since I build too many front hingers and figured a change of pace would be good. Bit underweight but there's really not much more I want to do with it as I'm pretty happy with it both looks and performance wise

Made several changes to this thing which I think make it look cleaner. Changed the colour scheme which is the main one, and I think looks a lot better than the blinding white of the old one. Also made the wedge plate a touch longer which means it's more effective, and thickened up the top bits of the wedge so they run better into the double thickness lower plates. Really happy with this thing now.

TBH, I preferred the previous colour scheme. "Blinding", maybe, but it stood out more. Now it just looks like every other flipper you've ever built. It's as clean as your usual builds, don't get me wrong, it just... doesn't stand out from them, IMO.

If you want your builds to stand out more- make each one different.
For instance- make the flipper you just built also have a vertical spinner attached to it.

I do still have the white and blue version but I think I'm gonna stick with this one as I prefer it personally. Don't really see the resemblance to most of my other flippers myself but I'll try to make them stand out more in future

Literally- get away from the generic bots. This is why my bots really stand out.

Tbh I actually think robo has some of the least generic bot builders here. Sure in concept they aren't anything new but the way he makes them weird shapes really looks nice. Robo has legitimately made me want to make my bots more interesting so I'm not sure what's generic about them.

Also red alert your bots do not stand out. You literally sent me a box with a lifter for my tournament.

Agreed, Robo is definitely one of the best guys in the DSL-IRL meta to make bots that not only look great with extenders but work very efficiently more often than not. I wish I could make flippers just as good as he can! Sure, sometimes they might be a bit bland or simple looking but the extenderwork that goes into them is remarkable.

My focus for the past like year and a half has always been on interesting chassis shapes as opposed to tacking stuff onto my bots for the sake of being interesting. That leads some people to find my build style a little boring, which is fine by me. Not everyone has to like it. I'm relatively happy with my build style though and I don't intend to change it because some guy who's managed to piss just about everyone on the forum off in a few short months thinks I should.

Honestly the only thing I would change is may be making the colour scheme more diverse. You use a lot of black, white and blue but tbf I and many others do the same. Just make the colours less flat is all. Still just love your bots tho  :heart_smiley:

Yeah I agree for the most part and it's something I've been trying to remedy lately, but I've been having issues. I tend not to go above 2 colours on my bots because, tbh, my artistic skills and abilities to figure out which colours work well together are dogsh**. The fact there's about 7 different shades of blue, 3 of green and then 1 of every other colour doesn't really help when I try to avoid falling into the classic blue and black rabbit hole too.

I love the new colors on Ineffable. It gives the bot that extra pop and definition that white doesn't allow to show most of the time. Great work as always.

Here's a thing which I had way too much trouble getting to work for something so simple. Supposed to be a spiritual successor to a bot I made WAYYYYY back when. 4NPC fasts and a top panel flipper powered by a wide medium VDMA. Tried to give it some character despite the fairly boring design and I think it came out alright.

Here's the old ass bot it's based on just for a reminder

3 stegs as a flipper I like, I'm always a fan for simple yet effective designs.
