Here's a thing. No actual clue what it's meant to be really. Perm 132 for the weapon, dual TWMR2s for drive. Twin slow mags for the srimechs

I love the chassis work on it.

hot
Thanks guys!

Here's another one. Speed Demon is probably one of my most successful bots but I still have ideas how to improve it. This is the result of those ideas: Speed Demon V.

Compared to the previous version it's upgraded in just about every aspect. Drive has increased from dual TWMR2s to dual NPC fasts, the weapon motor can no longer fall off incredibly easily, angled armour pieces have been added around the weapon axle to deflect HS hits, and a quicker, more reliable srimech powered by a Vsmall VDMA has been added.

Weapon motor is a perm 132, drive is 2 NPC fasts, srimech is powered by a Vsmall VDMA. Weight is 799.7KG

Beautiful. I have no clue how you're able to pump out so much skill in such short time.
Thanks man! I find that once you've built one bot you start to get into a rhythm and can make a fair few bots in a short time.

Looks a lot more bulky, less streamlined than before, but I like it!
Bulkier was sort of what I was going for with this version. HSes have been the bane of Speed Demon for basically its entire existence, so I decided I wanted to make a beefed up version that could deal with them better.

Tfw speed demon has gotten slower as it's evolved.

But for real it looks much more durable than before and I love the supports you've done using the angle pieces and I love me some wedgelets. Sick work dude as per usual
This version is a decent bit faster than version IV was due to using NPC fasts rather than TWMR2s. Also as I mentioned last time this came up, the speed of the initial versions was too much of a hindrance for me to stick with it, and the name "Speed Demon" primarily came from the Martini Racing livery that the bot uses for its skin, rather than the actual speed of the bot

Did some more work on Speed Demon V as I wasn't happy with how (un)clean the previous version was. The whole top section has had a pretty big redesign which, IMO makes it look both cleaner, and makes it more effective in combat. I removed that annoying lip that there was next to the angle pieces on the disc supports and also beefed them up so that they're even more resilient to HSes now. I also altered the angle of the supports and made the srimech into a full panel rather than a weird U-shaped extender thing, which also goes some way to hiding the somewhat sticky-out srimech burst a bit better too. IMO the whole thing looks a lot cleaner now, but I'm interested to hear what you guys think.

I like the new version better, because visually, I think this version looks more robust with the covered weapon motor and the structure of the support

Should be more robust in practice too, though that remains to be properly seen.

I might be the only one who prefers the original. I still really like that skin and giving it an option to selfright is very good

Here's a new thing that ended up being an SHW. Weird twin angled drum thing. Small drums because anything larger would clip with each other where they converge in the middle. Drive is 4 TWM3s which would be fine if this was an HW as planned but since it's an SHW it's not the quickest bot in the world. Drum motors are perm 132s so at least they have some power to them, and that red bit in the middle is a srimech powered by a medium VDMA.

Cheers guys!

I've since made the drums a bit bigger which I think looks a fair bit more proportionate. The inner drums still have to use small beaters because they'd collide otherwise but other than that I think it looks better

Noah, stop standing on the lad's robots. It makes them cooler but it generates an odor.

Starting my preparations for Mech Madness 2. Will be entering a mixture of new builds, bots I built a while ago but haven't entered into a tournament yet, and veterans. Here's one of the new builds. Based somewhat on the chassis of my Deathmatch 2 entry but with major modifications which render it looking very little like it, this is Toreador. Beta burst for the flipper and 4 TWMR drives.

This wasn't actually intended as a sequel to the buffalo-themed front hinge I did a while back, but I can definitely see the resemblance.

I can certainly try and make room for it in my planned OW3 lineup too if you'd like to see it!

Here's one of my 2 entries to Middleweight Mixup 2 (The other being that middleweight version of Sabre from a while back). I made 2 configs for it but I've decided to only enter the flipper version in the end. Drive is 2 TWMRs for fairly average speed for an MW, while the flipper is powered by 2 small VDMAs which should provide a good bit of power. Would have liked to have had another bar connecting the arms of the flipper together closer to the tip, but it would have clipped with the triangular structure on top which holds one of the bot's batteries and therefore cannot be removed. The drum config uses a perm  80 for the weapon power but changes too much to really be a modular config as well as the drum being somewhat disproportionate to the rest of the bot, so I'm a fair bit less happy with that one. Not expecting either of my bots to do too much of anything competitively as they aren't shell spinners or overheads, but hopefully they'll at least look cool and do some good flips as they get ripped apart.

Anodyne Ext.png

Also while I'm at it, might as well showcase my full Mech Madness 2 lineup. Most of them have been seen before. Azimuth has been upped to 4WD since MM1, and Captain Pugwash is a 6mag powered wild thing style spinner that I'm not really all that pleased with compared to the rest of my lineup

I like Toreador best of all of those. Craaig was right, eyes really give character to a bot
