So I made a new version of Sabre. This one, like 2 was, is an iterative improvement rather than a total rebuild like the third version was, but from my testing it has made a really big difference in terms of effectiveness. The biggest change is a 20cm reduction in length compared to Sabre III, which makes the bot more manoeuvrable, as well as saving around 150KGs, which has been spent up-armouring the bot (All the sides and front remains steel, while the top is now also steel instead of aluminium, and the bottom is all titanium instead of Alu too). Drive remains 2 NPC fasts and the weapon is still powered by a storm burst too.

Here's a pic that better shows the overall reduction in length too.

Thank you!  :heart_smiley: I'm pretty damn happy with it myself at this stage too actually. Think after many attempts I've finally got Sabre to exactly where I want it to be both looks and performance wise.

Continuing my buildup for the next instalment of Orc's Wars, here's the third robot in the line of dumb ass clamps that I enter every series, that was started by Coelacanth and Mudskipper. This one aims to be a kind of hybrid of those two, with a sort of cross between a dustpan and a wedge, and the shape of the bot being somewhere between the two previous incarnations. Drive is dual NPC fasts which I've found to be more than sufficient on the previous versions, and the jaw is powered by a small VDMA. This one also has a separate motor for the srimech unlike Mudskipper, which is powered by another small VDMA burst. The front is obviously all steel as this is designed primarily as a spinner killer (Which each incarnation has been reasonably effective at doing so far) while the rest is a mix of Ti, Alu, and then a small amount of poly for the top panel.

I've fixed the eyes being crossed now, although it looks more high than anything now :D

Can I also just say thanks for being one of the few people who actually leaves feedback on peoples' showcases these days. Much love  :heart_smiley:

Looks good, loving the polycarb above the wheels. Makes it look much better due to being able to see inside. The dustpan itself looks much more solid and effective compared to the last two. And Im guess the rib cage on the back is the whole shrimech? cuz if so that's nice af

Here's a new one. I'd made a few bots with this kind of chassis shape before but badger's sweet VS from a couple of days back brought it back into my mind and I wanted to have a crack at another bot in that vein. This is what I came up with. It's a lifter/flipper with the weapon powered by a storm burst, and a separate srimech powered by 2 very small VDMAs. Drive is 4 TWM3s which is decent enough. Armour is steel on the front with everything else Alu except for a (begrudgingly) polycarb bottom panel. Weight is 797.6 KG

Already voiced a bit of my opinion on this on Discord, but I gotta say again: this is up there with your best works. The front extender work and angled pieces near the back look absolutely fantastic :heart_smiley:. The prongs on the flipper plate itself look cool as well. I still don't get how you can consistently pump out such great extenderbots, its incredible!

Thanks so much guys  :heart_smiley:

I've made a few small upgrades to it including removing some superfluous components and cleaning up some areas that had panel gap, which has also allowed me to give it a proper bottom panel made out of aluminium now. Super happy with how it looks now.

Cheers Olister. I have been tending towards flipper bots lately and I think they've come out okay. Gonna try to do some more non-flipper stuff to keep some variety in the near future though.

Had this idea in my head last night for yet another flipper so I decided to try to get it to be a CW so I could enter it into Deathmatch 2. This is the result. In a similar vein to Bronco or Toro, but with the flipper hinged differently and a separate srimech powered by a slow mag, which allows me to use a beta burst for the flipper which is more than enough on a CW. Drive is 4 TWMRs which makes it nice and nippy too, and the wedge is steel so it should be fairly tanky. the main issue of this bot is battery life, which is only really enough to go 3 mins if the AI is conservative with the flipper, which it very rarely is. Hopefully it can knock the opponents out before it runs out of juice though. All this comes out to 599.8 KG.

It's not an extenderbot. It has a conventional chassis which the burst is placed in, it just has a lot of extenderwork around the chassis.

It's accepted and also sweet AF.
Thanks man. Look forward to seeing how it does in your tourney  :heart_smiley:

Here's a lil MW boi. Flatmotor (regrettably) powered vert with 2 TWMR drive. Fairly run of the mill but I'm reasonably happy with how it came out looks wise. 387.1 KG

Well that went down like a cup of cold sick. Nonetheless I've made some developments. Changed the tooth setup to a hopefully more damaging arrangement, also switched up the setup around the weapon supports in a couple of ways. Changed the "axle" for the drum to round extenders as it didn't look right being on a square shaft, and also changed the alignment of the triangular support pieces to prevent the bot tipping forward when it hits stuff. Fairly effective now.

I thought I left a comment, guess not, really nice design and you've set it up really well, though I don't know which teeth I prefer, naturally the beaters will do more damage but the matilda teeth look much better.
