Experimented some robots using Serge's component freedom, to make some IRL robots:
I noticeds that the motors are much weaker compared to their real life counterparts, and thing can be stopped very easly.
-
Wow they look awesome, I particularly love the first one! I think the problem is half the motors and half the the components are too light and therefore don't have enough energy to throw bots anywhere. You can edit both of these values in a component's .txt file, worth a shot if you're into IRL and not balance.
-
What motor is that on the hs?
-
I guess I could try Badger, make a new folder for IRL stuff, change the values and pray to the havok gods that things won't explode.
The HS uses a nightmare e-tek.
EDIT: I have uploaded the two bots in the bot exchange if you want them

Should probably update this thing, I have a few robots to show:
Lock and Roll:
Robot made for the IRL MW rumble challenge, based on a similar US antweight robot (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGZSPDNFuvI).
Surprised it won, since it has a very exposed chassis, but the weapon did it's job to protect it (unlike it's real life counterpart).
Drop Saw:
Robot made for Rob's 2nd chance tournament, but only won one fight, when the opponent went over my robot and out of the arena.
It's actually a remake of another dustpan that was illegal in the tournament (Extensive use of CF).
Sir-Axe-A-Ton:
Was actually originally made for Rob's challange, but now is my MW entry for Swords of Glory.
Speed Master:
Made again with extensive use of CF, and it's a MW Ring master, that looks similar to MR Speed squared and uses the small weights to balance the STD.
Son of Mariachi:
Derpy joke bot, the spinner is supposed to be a sombrero (that's the joke...). LW entry for SoG.
ForkFlip2:
Based heavly on my previous ForkFlip robot, this time is based more on Panic Attack as it uses a secondary lifter to self right and as secondary weapon if robots go over it. Uses far to many smart zones.
(I actually entered it for reddidbots at the last minute, because why not it didn't use any CF features, but it seams it was not accepted).
F30:
My entry for GTM Wars, based on my UK antweight robot F3. It's a flipper, and it also uses extensivly CF (thanks for allowing that Craaig!).
-
Drop-Saw, such a shame, it did well in round 3 AND survived a judges decision in the rumble! ;)
That single-tooth, though... love it. Adore what you did as its flag, too! All fantastic bots, man
-
I like the style of the bots in the OP better, but that's just me.
-
Update time!
ForkFlip2 (HW):
Just used the colored parts From the IRL packs to give it some colour.
Ript Again! (HW):
A VS STD based on the FW Big Ripto. Love that robot!
Fangs (CW):
Made for RoboGauntlet, did pretty good in it's group, but lost in the heat final. Front hinged flipper.
Friction Saw (HW):
Made for Badnicks tournament, another dustpan type robot based on SawBlaze.
The Inverter (MW):
Also made for Badnicks tournament, Nightmare style VS with the ability to swing it's drivetrain around for invertibility.
Shield and Sword (HW):
Basically a near replica of Warrior SKF, with working flipper and ring spinner.
-
That VS hot damn. Can't wait to see it fight in Badnik's tourney. Perhaps I'll even have the honour of facing it.
-
tight stuff as always my dude
i like the yellow VS and dustpan especially
-
Neato.
-
So which one will be AI'd with SuperDuperMegaUltra.py?
-
sexy as hell imo
-
First 2 bots are seriously beautiful, shield and sword is ugly af imo.
-
They are so awesome looking! Keep up the good work Tashic :thumbup
-
these all look phenomenal.
-
Your builds are ridiculously good. Love all those bots.
-
Dude nice work.
One of my latest bots is called drop saw as well. Can't remember if it uses that name or drop point for a certain tournament
-
I question how the wheels on that Invertible Nightmare VS is realistic, but that's my only gripe.
That and everything else is damn sexy otherwise.
-
dope af
-
sex on wheels
-
100th post, finally!
More robutts
warning, many pictures!
Sprinter
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/92319ascreenshot_2.png)
Arancio
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/32185ascreenshot_4.png)
Bitty Bots entries, one has overkill drive (2 NPC fasts in al LW), the other has overkill blade (and led).
Sprinter likes to flip all over the place and fall from the arena :L
Mechanica Ali
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/39702screenshot_5.png)
The boxer robot! I was inspired by the robots live ones, and sir killalot for the back after I decided it needed a lot of batteries.
250FlyZone
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/73172screenshot_3.png)
Tried to make a NoFlyZone HW robot. To make it work, I put the wheel not directly on the motor axle because it would be too difficult to move forward, while the propeller isn't powered by the e-tek, but by judge thrusters on the back of the blades. It does work but not as much as the real one.
Singularity
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/342012screenshot_4.png)
Robot that I 090901 made for his tournament. the led circle is actually a dsl disc attached to the chassis, with razer damage zones for stupid damage potential. The disc and chassis spins with thrusters, while the hovercraft is attached to an unpowered axle, and keeps the entire robot balanced like in the photo.
As you might have saw it's near impossible to drive.
Various tests with OBJtoRA2 by Apanix
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/906231screenshot_8.png)
The last one I actually set up the texture map, while the second (and first) I didn't.
Made also a replica of my yet unfinished FW. Textures are photos I took of it.
You have to be carefull with the size of it.
All of these robots don't use custom components I made, All the weird parts are part of the chassis.
-
that no fly zone is sexy af
-
All of the bots here look pretty good I would say for myself. Especially the Noflyzone HW which I'm guessing that it could possibly move like the IRL US Antweight counter part of the name you mentioned below. To further ask, does that Giant Red bot in the last photo contain anything? It may look like to have a large chassis and possibly no batteries, but is there anything else in the bot?
-
Thanks guys!
Dark-AI, no it's empty, I need to shrink it to then make a robot out of it. The components will be in the cavity in the center and polycarb on the top. Kind of like extenderbots.
-
Wow everything is so nice. I especially like No Fly Zone and the replica of your bot.
-
ridiculously good robots, are you the new 123 ?
-
UPDATE!
LDAI team:
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/32224team ldai.png)
LW- Sprinter SV: Just like the previous but sleeker. Just as stupidly fast.
MW- Tricolore: More OBJ2RA2! Hollow chassis with stuff inside and some poly pannels.
HW- Fork Flip Evo: Because I couldn't think of an original HW design at the time, so have a fully extenderbot Fork Flip!
AW- UpperCut: More OBJ2RA2! Replica of my actual IRL AW. Has an STD as well!
BW- Delta-f: Get it? B'cause Beta is a greek letter and Hz is the unit of frequency, so f ... Anyways has a Overkill motor for the axe.
CW- Dome-Nant: More (you get it). Wanted to use the chassis for a shell spinner, this required the ChassisSpinner.py, and because wheels in ra2 are stupid, I can't have wheels directly attached to the drive motors, so the wheels have f**k all traction. But other than that it does work! And it doesn't use the black shell pannels that we are all sick of.
BOTM April:
The winner of that month. Glad people liked it!
ADOT entries:
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/81098egg and duck.png)
SHW clusterbot: Gothic Duck (HW) and Nasty Egg (MW): Not totally satisfied with this to be honest. The HW part tends to lose the beta motor as it's not directly attached to the chassis.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/99869lw cluster.png)
LW clusterbot: Red Blur and Green Slash (both AWs): Originally supposed to be a BW cluster bot, but ra2 doesn't like robots that are stupidly light, so it sends them into space. Probably going to be swept away by other LWs but whatever.
HW: B-Lizard: made to use the biggest VDMA burst motor and make it look not constrained by that component. Added tilted wheels for more style points.
And my latest bot:
CW: Margin of Error: Decided to make it today to try and send it for ADOT but I was too slow. Decided to try to fit a more complex shape into the 86 polygons limit of OBJ2RA2 (if you want to fight with it) and decided for an undercutter with the body having a recess for the blade, with relatively curvy shapes.
-
dat lizard tho
-
red blur's chassis shape is amazing and i love the skin it has. contender for my favorite irl bot of all time.
-
#Tashicforbestrealisticbuilder2017
-
The shell spinner looks superb!
-
sex
good sh** man
-
Really digging on Margin of Error
-
This is now one of my favorite showcases!
Love the shellspinner <3 and soundwave is pure awesomeness
-
My mind has blowned,
Loving this bot and his showcase now.
-
Dude, all these bots kick-ass. Dome-nant and Margin of Error are probs my favorites out of all these.

Me not postied anything in a while so here we go:
First of all an update to Margin of Error, with a better looking blade:
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Still waiting on a CW tournament to send as entry.
My entries for GTMLive (happening sometime between now and never):
Demon:
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Tried to do something resembling a propper overhead twackbot, but it kinda became a mess to be fair, also tried to experiment with customized py. Not really usefull in the end, but might try again some other time.
Friction Live:
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Since it was a UK live event themed tournament, that meant no spinners, so I decided to make a live event safe version of Friction Saw, since that's something people actually IRL. Now it has a jaw with spike strips.
CounterFlip:
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Many people have started to use multiple bursts to make their flippers, something that has been done in real robots too. Problem for me is that in Ra2 you can't have multiple bursts attached to the same solid flipper panel, so you have a case of the twin flipper arm, something I'm not very fond of.
A solution I have found is to instead of having the flipper arm attached to the burst, The main part of the robot IS the flipper arm, where the bursts are attached and THEN the wheel pods are attached to the bursts. When flipping the wheel pods lift the main part of the robot as the flipper arm.
Now after all that, the results aren't that great, I need to refine this method further.
Other bots:
Hammerhead
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Originally made for Orc's tourney and had to be based on S3 (thanks OBJ2RA2! Again!).
I then decided to use the robot for Badger's International Wars as the italian entry.
Because of that I made a slightly different skin:
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Unnamed Robot
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Still haven't named this bot, as it's not finished completely, but the Idea was to make a robot inspired by Crazy Susan (by the same builder of The Ringmaster).
Because of the original design, I made a chassis with OBJ2RA2, which ended up massive with not much usefull room and weight left, so in the end I dropped the project after this first proof of concept (for now).
Hot Air:
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
When you are bored and ask weird robots to make.
The base of the robot was "make a walker with judge thruster powered VS".
To move it uses storm bursts that allows the robot to move though recoil of the burst and wonky physics (not sure if this actually counts as walker).
The VS part is pretty straight forward, two judge thrusters angled to make the spinner spin.
-
The overkill spinner is genius. (My next tourney is a CW one, don't worry)
The thwackbot I'd have to agree with what you said, but still good work.
The clamp seems like it needs something extra. Without the saw it just seems empty.
Counterflip I have already succeeded at ripping off. Very cool.
I can't help but think something is as off about Hammerhead idk what though...
The other 2 I have no words for.
You never cease to amaze man.
-
Wow. I love them all! Hammerhead is a work of art. Also nice blade and the concept bot is awesome too!
-
Me not postied anything in a while so here we go:
First of all an update to Margin of Error, with a better looking blade:
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Still waiting on a CW tournament to send as entry.
There may or may not be one coming up very soon ;)
As for the bots holy moly you never fail to blow me away Tashic. Hammerhead is insane and counterflip is neat AF.
-
Hammerhead is incredible. Would love to see the obj chasis without ra2 parts. The counter flip concept is awesome, gotta add that to the long list of things to try. Sounds like many CW tournies are in the planning stages (3 at least maybe?), guess I need more than 2 cws to enter
-
These are all so good
-
I need to change everything I was wearing on my lower half after seeing Hammerhead.
-
hammerhead belongs in a ****ing museum
-
Long time no
see post!
I should update this showcase, here are the bots:
Rocket Punch (HW)
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Made for OrcWars2 and fought on some events, not hugely successful.
TechnoWrath (CW)
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Made for TheRoboteer's T.R.A.P.S. tourney, and fittingly it's a front hinge flipper.
CounterFlip 2 (HW)
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Supposed to be a better version of counterflip, trying mostly to solve the problem of it flipping itself and ending up being useless, hopefully it works out in robogames 2.
SweetCrazyness (HW)
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
My GTMCS IRL entry, a better and more polished version of a robot showcased previously. It's doing good in the looser's bracket, after loosing it's first fight.
RotaryPie (LW)
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Robot based on Charles Guan's BW RollCake, and like that was originally supposed to have a rear flipper (the space on the back was for that), but I didn't like how it ended up being, so I just kept it as a drum.
Whirl (SHW with RotaryPie)
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Based on the robot Cavalier after a suggestion, I couldn't make it strafe without the AI screwing things up, so no strafe, but it explains the weird wheel configuration.
-
Oh **** yeah Tashic’s back.
Kicking ass once again, I love TechnoWrath and Whirl.
-
Very nice, I like them all. TechnoWrath and SweetCrazyness are my favorite.
-
You're making everyone else look bad. Brilliant bots. Rocket Punch is the highlight for me.
-
best builder on the forums right here tbqh
-
Rocket Punch and Sweet Crazyness are godlike.
-
Love all of them. The skinning on SweetCrazyness is fantastic imo
