why are you using weapon motors for drive on deadzone
-
I have no idea...... O.o
-
is hydrogen of any use at all?
-
Alright, let's have a good look at these.
For Hydrogen, a novel idea (by which I mean cute =3), but what's its purpose? And if you want it to last the whole battle, you'll need 2-3 ant batteries there. But I doubt you'll be able to, seeing that it looks like you're trying to keep the weight under 50 kg. God knows why.
Dreadzone. Hmmm. First, trying to build even closer to the weight limit will be helpful, and always try to make the chassis as small as possible, fitting around the components. I'm not really sure why you're using a poker, there. It would be more effective to protect the front with a heavy snowplow and invest into some more juicy weapons for your horizontal hammers. Not to mention that using spinning weapons on a burst motor isn't the most effective idea in the world, as the limited contact the spinning weapon will have with the opponent doesn't really cause enough damage.
And some more generic advice, the E-TEK motors you're using for drive there is a bad idea. These motors are used for spinning weapons, hence it has a low torque and top speed, vice versa with drive motors. For this, Fast NPCs should be sufficient. Also, in general, monster truck tyres aren't brilliant. Usually the most effective wheels are WAWs, Hypnos, Vlads, Tornado/Slipperbottoms and Techno Destructos (maybe mini wheels. Sometimes.)
Also, what's the armour? That's a useful thing to tell us.
Oh and I forgot to mention, these are not bad quality for a newbie, keep it up :thumbup

target practice
:yaya)<that's hydrogen
:gunz:<That's you

Deadzone actually looks pretty cool, even if it is a pretty bad bot.
-
deadzone: plas 5
Hydrogen: plas 1 (what did u expect?)

Alright, thanks.
And don't use sarcastic remarks like that. It's irritating.

getting better, definitely improvement, but you may want to use weapons with no normals (aka can do damage all over the weapon instead of only able of doing damage on one side of it), try beater bars
-
it's not that bad as an idea but if you change the wheels to hypno wheels and get beater bars and razors (perhaps angled towards the ground) instead of the ripping teeth then it will be pretty good. is the chassis at minimum height? because if you do the height just a bit higher then you can get bottom protection (titanium halfsheets) and can angle the beater/razor setup downwards more.
for an example of what i mean look at this:

not shameless self-promoting
and you might want to post the armour and how many batteries it has in your post so we dont have to ask, general rule is 1 ant battery for 1 motor (not servos, bursts or pistons)
-
Trying to see what's inside there is hurting my eyes. Could you show a pic of the inside with the disc removed? Or tell us what's in there?
And I think I see a large battery in there. I think. For this bot you only need 3-4 ants.
-
Can't see what batteries it's using but in DSL all Spin motors only need 1 ant battery to run for a whole match, so you only need 3 in there. Also, shiny hub wheels aren't as good in DSL as Stock (use grippier wheels, like Hypnos if possible). I trust those are NPC Fasts as well :P
Finally, those teeth have 'normals'. That means they only deal damage on 1 specific point of the component (the tip of the spike), whereas some other weapons (hammers, double sided teeth, beater bars, iron spikes etc) don't have these and deal damage with all parts of the component, making them more effective weapons. Other components with normals include pole spikes, chewblades and cutting teeth (the mini ones of what you have) - but people will alert you of these components as and when.

Backing up what Craaig said.
-
i just thought that the rippers looked epic.
-
they do but are pretty bad :P
they can be used in irl building but thats a different story
-
i just thought that the rippers looked epic.
They do, but in effective building they're not good to use. Although it doesn't quite matter so much in IRL style building.
EDIT: Ninja'd

needs less empty space
-
Okay, you'll need 3 or 4 ant batteries (like I said before) and shrink that chassis down.
Oh and hide that black battery before Nary sees it xD
-
Remember, just shrinking the chassis a little can free up a whole load of weight for other stuff. Even making it a square shorter will help you, as you do have a lot of emptyness up the end there.
Also backing up what I said, switch the batteries/wheels/weapons and it's alright :D
-
You see? You don't need a Frenchman shouting at you to get useful advice!
-
i wish the loudspeaker had a tornado siren option
-
if you shrink the chassis to 1x4 and attach the dual perm on a multi extender then you will save weight for more weapons/drive or whatever else. you can put a tite halfsheet on the bottom and then something under the dual perm for stability and to protect it
and dont use those batteries, they're useless. go with ant batteries as everyone has said :P
-
also for target practice, i put flamethrowers on forkie.
still useless, but fun.
