Decided to recreate one of my old classic robots from years past: Mega Metallicus, who was able to reach the quarter finals in one of Freeziez Battlebots Tournaments. The try-hard nature of this design still resonates to this day, with it's Etek drive Ti10 armor, and potent weapon setup.

I'm thinking of recreating other classic builds I made back in the day too...

Ok, so here's a funny story of how I just made RA2 history on accident:

So I tried rebuilding the first DSL bot I EVER posted on here, Rolling Pin Of Doom. It used to look like this:

And now it looks like this:

Rolling Pin Of Doom.PNG

You see those desert tan extenders that are supposed to mimic arms? Well, when I was testing this bot out and started it's weapon, I happened to also be moving the bot in the opposite direction of the drums, causing the extenders to torque-react. I tried a few more times and realized there's another way to make torque reaction bots.

This led to me making THIS thing:

Flipping Crazy Prototype 1.PNG

This is the prototype version of "Flipping Crazy", which functions EXACTLY like a torque-reaction bot IRL could, with the assistance of drums acting as gyroscopes that move the opposite direction of the wheels if they move either forward or backward. No more did we need to use non-wheel components to make torque reaction bots.

Then, I improved the design to use saws so it was more tourney-legal, and it ended up working BETTER. Now it can hit stuff with FORCE, and on the spot too!

Flipping Crazy Prototype 5.PNG

And with that, a new breed of bot is born.

Ok, I was a little over-zealous over that last post. I took pain meds for my chipped teeth, and it looks like last night I lost my freaking mind.

How do I know this? Well, shortly after that torque-reaction bot, I built this cursed thing:

Here's a bot I built under duress and forgot to post after the fact: Paranoid Anxiety. It's a LW Tombclone powerhouse with TWM drive, a Perm 80 motor, and I BELIEVE either 3mm aluminum or titanium armor.

Here's something a bit more original: A perfectly stable asymmetrical shell spinner artbot. It's main issue is weapon power and taking forever to self-right.

wow that looks sick for a shell spinner, impressive work getting that balanced with the whole face on the front
Stuff I didn't suck at (from oldest to newest)

Thanks! I'm quite proud of the asymmetrical design too.

In fact, I was so proud of it, I built another asymmetrical spinner, one just as balanced but way more powerful (and absurd)

Here's another bug, this time less meme-ish:

It's name is Diesel Roach. I might give it a better name later.

Here's a beta burst front-hinged flipper, named Flippunch.

Flipunch.PNG

He's a sad boi.

Flipunch 2.PNG

The body is designed so that whenever he's flipped, he'll always land on his sad little face.

I like big discs, though I know on hspinner you'll get blindsided after the first hit.

Love the fire breathing bug
