Cricket needs 1 more ant battery, and Mantis needs a weapon cage, like Last Rites ( the bot below ) But of course, it needs a lighter armor type.
Also, Mantis and Cricket needs a Blue Control Board, it's lighter.
(Image removed from quote.)
Nein. Cricket needs like, 2 less batteries. I don't think anyone really abides to the "everything fully powered" rule.

The cage part is correct, but doesn't have to be that complex.
Kinda like, i meant

Updated Mantis. Gave it a weapon similar to Last Rites' (At this point you could just call it a smaller version of Last Rites) and a smaller chasis. Had to lower down batteries so that it had decent armor (1mm Titanium), replaced the perm with an E-Tek. And also added a cage-ish thing (How do you do it I still don't know) for it since it wasn't IRL enough.

Decided to give it a fight.

I fed him The Boxer.

Made short work of it.

I proceeded to give it more bots to feed on.

Later on I changed wheels and added an ant in there as well.

The game crashed after I faced Nightmare and took off his wheels, causing his disc to hit the ground and eventually having a Havok Nuke.

The cages are a bit tricky to make at first. But the main components to make them are the flipper segments and extenders. Those particular extenders you chose are the least advisable to use because they are very weak. But I understand if you're having issues with the weight limit.

If you repeat that extender work below the weapon bar, I think it would be neat for IRL standards. You'll have to change some components If you intend to keep it a Middleweight.

I think you might be also criticized by having such a big bulky exposed motor. It's not very realistic.

Not IRL enough?

But in all seriousness, there isn't a better motor to use.

What you can do is like that bot you just posted, put a perm inside the chassis with the belt sticking out and build supports for the belt. But don't use Multi-extenders for the support, they're only invincible when directly attached to baseplate, you might as well use something stronger.

EDIT: And yes, having a 70kg motor just suspended on those few supports probably wouldn't happen IRL

I remembered Badnik96 telling me that multi extenders would be best. I had to use the E-Tek because it was lighter than the Perm so I could add more armor. And yeah, I'll go build the bottom supports right away

I guess what badnik meant was using multiextenders instead of basepalteanchors.

^This. Baseplate anchors are less useful than multi-extenders for baseplate mounting, and weigh more.

Also, you could probably quite easily get a perm in there, a perm 45 weighs less than the etek and the larger perm could fit in if you cut the chassis armour/size down slightly, and maybe downgraded the wheels. I know it's a lot of fuss but it'll do wonders for the 'IRL-ness' of it.

Alright, got some work done. Updated Cricket. Gave him a row of teeth and added the slots for the wheels for more IRL-ness.

Not sure about Decal placing though, seems kinda off for me, but I guess it's okay.

Now time to go give Mantis an upgrade...

Alright, the latest update on Mantis. Gave it lighter wheels, better weapons, and a full cage.

But there's a problem. The weapons intersect with the cage.

Do I just ignore this problem, or can I fix it for maximum IRL-ness?

With some extender magic then yes you can fix the cage.

I wouldn't use multi extenders though, they're very fragile and don't really fit the theme of the bot.

use things like round extenders or flippermakers

multiextenders are excellent for attaching components directly to the baseplate but poor at everything else

Alright, replaced Cricket because it wasn't doing a very good job as the shield (kept driving in circles and opponents kept driving over it).

Here's it's replacement. Stag Beetle.

I will gladly say that Stag Beetle has been doing a MUCH better job as a shield. It's armor is 5mm Tit. Cricket's armor was only 3mm Tit.

So, after AI'ing Stag and Mantis (Thanks to Ianh05 for the great tutorial), I decided to feed them some bot meat.

It only proved Naryar right about his whole "Sword hitting Shield" theory.

I decided to give them something that could actually do some damage for their next fight.

I'm looking for another opponent for their next fight, any suggestions?

I've always liked multibots.

Your tutorial was probably the best AI'ing tutorial I could find, It gave clear and easy instructions.

But I have a question, what if I want to start a team just for my bots? What do I do?

Good to know, if you want to add new teams you need to create a new team folder and name it Team# with the # being the next number after the last team. Then you need to go to teams.txt, copy the last teams info and just change the index number to that which matches your new teams folder number (the next number up from the previous team).

"Robots: 0 1 2" = the numbers of the bots in that teams folder (Bot0, Bot1 and Bot2 in this case). You should make sure this number is correct or it might cause some issues.
