Kid i'm going to say it again, but first GET DSL, become a decent builder and then you might know what you're talking about.

I like horizontal sawbots as well, but the problem is that they DO fail in combat.

I edited Smash Revolution and Speedbird a bit.

Smash Revo V1.1 now has beater bars in-place if the Lightning Spikes. They seem to fare a bit better in battle.

Speedbird 2 has had a major revidion since Speedbird V1.2 (It had an ineffective disc after the saw blade). It is now a VS with thicker armour (5mm Plastic rather than 1mm).

None of the innards have been changed to warrant an inside picture.

While beater bars are better than Lightning spikes, in your design they make for bad panel coverage... You risk having your panels ripped off before the weapons are.

What would a better way of mounting them be? Possibly upright?

Probably upright, or extending from the chassis... still i don't think these are a good choice in such few numbers.

Hmm... I'll try them upright, but will also try some of the other spikes ect.

[EDIT] I tried 4 Large Beater Bars, they seem to perfrom pretty good. HAd to sacrifice a battery, but it still has plenty of juice.

3 bots made for a possible BBEANS6 entry.

Some extra facts.

Flare - The first of the concept bots, and my first Flamethrower bot. In order to get the wheels armoured, the two DSL bars on the side are attached with Beater Bars, in the hope that when the Flamethrower had done it's magic, either them or the Spike Stripes would finish it off. It failed.

Precision Impact - Was called Gymnologise (Ancient Greek for "To debate while naked"). Besides Smash Revolution LW, this is a serious candidate for BBEANS6. Weighs 249kg, with Spinner Sections on the top, front and rear. Tends to do fairly well in battles, weakness is not being able to self right.

The Bot With No Name - An idea that i thought would work, but didn't. It didn't cause enough damage to even get close to destroying the opponent.

TBWNN2 would be better with Piglets and Irons.

Your bots have a certain look to them that I like alot.

I think it has something to do with that they are not small boxes with a Perm and a DSL bar on a pole attached.

but maybe you could upgrade the armour to make it nearer the weight limit. (Aluminium has bad strength to weight ratio)
I do those awful YouTube videos.

Chewblades = mostly fail, and hammers like this make it unrealistic.

Did you get my armor fix in the NAR AI thread ? Without it, Alu armor sucks.

And armour from NAR AI makes bots comletely illegal in DSL tournaments.

Very good point since the Armour value is written in the bot file

Why don't we all legalize 60 HP/kg armor ?

I really like these bots. On the first one, if you still want a saw bot, I would exchange the chewblades for the other type of sawblades. On the drum and hammer's, I'm not sure but I think the aluminum skirts won't let the bot come in closer to the weapon. I like your style a lot.
