Ok all you guys saying to move the bots to a showcase, here you go.Pipe Clogger.(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/14895Pipe Clogger Insides (cropped).jpg) The drive are twm3rs or whatever they are called,Weapon is a Dual Perm with the 70kg hammers. Any advice, improvements or thoughts would be appreciated.
-
Hooray :D
Well, it has a lot of improment to be done really :P
Dunt use them angle connectors (use flipper segs instead cuz they weigh less and will last a lot longer)
Same with the T-connectors except you can use the side attachment points (the green cube-things that appear before you attach them if ya didn't know :P) on those steel extenders.
Wait, actually you can change those steel extenders for a DSL bar.
Change those wheels to Technos and can you tell us the armour?
Oh and i think you can shrink the chassis aswell :D
Also try changing the drive motors to NPC's
But you hopefully will get better.
-
Ok thx. i will update it.
-
Also try changing the drive motors to NPC's
and how do I use NPC's as drive w/ that small of a section of chassis
-
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/43002Micropak.jpg) Micropak.

Read this :

Hey, it's Nary!
Anyway.
- Shrink chassis
- Use better wheels
- Choose LW or MW, don't build in between
- Don't use baseplate anchors
- Armour?
- The tornadow weapon seems fragile
- Use the blue control board
You're obviously learning though.
- Good batteries and amounts
- Good drive motors
- Good weapon motors
Just keep revising that bot 'till you've god something good. :)
-
SHRINK THE CHASSIS?!?! Any smaller and you wouldn't be able to fit a USB into it! And what better wheels should I use to still make it invertible? Thepussycats?
-
That chassis is huge.
-
Seriously, that is an enormous chassis. On a Lightweight, look for my Clash Cubes IV entry (Wheels Are Tasty 4 1/2) to get an idea of what you can get away with. The reason small chassis' are good is because they eat up MUCH less weight, which could be used for things like weaponry or external armour.
-
That chassis is huge.
How is THAT huge? and upgrade:(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/32913New Micropak.jpg) If you cant read the armor its 5mm Titanium
-
The front things sticking out. They just give other bots something to hit. You have plenty of room for batteries as well, with the shrink.
Heres an example.
Here are the BBEANS 3 match videos: http://beetlebros.gametechmods.com/bbeans/matches/3/index.htm (http://beetlebros.gametechmods.com/bbeans/matches/3/index.htm)
Watch the ones with Darkblade 1.0
The needless chassis arms kill the bot in each match, and they also waste weight. You can keep the bot stable perfectly fine with some wedges, for a lot less weight.
-
If you remove the front prongs and replace them with, say, titanium skirts, you'll save some weight. Also, remember you can elevate batteries so you have a set covering only vertical space, saving you a lot of weight that would otherwise be used om the chassis.
Also, 2 NPCs with nothing in-between are pretty much the standard for chassis sizes (but probably not on a drum). Try showcases such as Pwnator's, Nary's, The Ounce's, 123STW's and SM's.
-
Thx I'll totally remodel the bot then...

Thx I'll totally remodel the bot then...
You'll get used to it, most of us have to do it a lot, especially in Stock.
-
Thx I'll totally remodel the bot then...
You have to...that's the point. :P
Use a 2x2 or 1x2 chassis for best results.
And learn to use multiextenders, they weigh less and take up less space.
-
1x2 or 2x2 what?
-
1x2 or 2x2 what?
Chassis.
-
Holy cow! how am I supposed to use NPC's on that!?
-
With the attachment points. Or, use Multi Extenders and other things.
EDIT: Here's a link to an example. The chassis contains 2 ants and the large control board.

OK heres my latest, smallest bot: Thesmallestbotiveeverbuilt. (https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/46482Thesmallestbotiveeverbuilt.jpg) Only 1x2. 10mm plastic. 207.2 KG. SUCCESS!!!
-
How many ant batteries? Also get it so your weapon is on the other connection point of the perm 80. You may want a stabilizer at the front.
-
Crap weapon. Also probably very unstable.
-
It is VERY unstable (can flip over in 1 push of the forward button) ok ill update it
-
Yeah it needs a stabilizer on the front.
-
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/48204Extenderwork.jpg) Extenderwork, almost completely remodeled and with stability.
-
That's a middlewight. If you use lighter and more efficient stabilizers (two 80 cm angled skirts it the point bit facing forward) you can drop this to an LW (probably :P)
-
These wheels are bad, and these weapons are even worse. Avoid them, unless you are building for cool looks and are ignoring the bot's combat efficiency.

Yup, that's what I'm going for  and madman, OBVIOUSLY it iz a MiDdLeWeIgHt.

If we could get some incredibly small (and legal) batteries, I would make a 1x1 bot. :p

No kidding and new popup: Powerpopup. (https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/5717Insidepowerpopup.jpg) (https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/89814Powerpopupinsides.jpg) 11 razor tips.

The side razors and top spike strips are pointless. But the skin is EPIC!
-
That thing needs a wedge badly. And better wheels, I reckon. Tighter chassis would be good, and lose the pointless spike strips. (Axle Mounts? For srs?) Larger CB is also lighter than the Mini one, for reasons science cannot explain. =P
-
DSL IWGS?
-
Too slow to be good, unrealistic weapon, too much weapon weight on the BSGs, external armor would help, these spike strips are pointless, and it needs a wedge... what else ?
-
NPC Fast Motors?
-
Magmotors and I put the spike strips on to do some damage if the enemy DOES happen to get ovah meh
-
Too much empty space, and you could use hypnos instead of micros, but good design.
-
Thx and a question: when i tried to put the edges on with a skin, it does not appear. Why???
-
Thx and a question: when i tried to put the edges on with a skin, it does not appear. Why???
Edge files have to be Targas with Alpha Channels, a preview image, and a noteppad file, in order to appear.
All of which, are very easy to edit.
Oh, and that RA1+RA2-mashup for a skin is badas

I got it off the internet 'Robot Arena', update to my gut ripper/popup: (https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/10709Powerpopupinsides2.jpg), And bottom if you were wondering: (https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/79472Bottomofpopup.jpg) It can destroy dreadnought, and has 5 mm steel.

Here's proof: (https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/92937Untitled......jpg) it is not edited, even though it looks like it

Why do you have so many air tanks
Why is your wedge on a burst piston? (Put it on a metal hinge for better results, you also have a lot of weight to eat up/lose)
Get rid of the battlepack and have 7/8 ants in there.
Would need NPC's/NPC fasts + hypnos so you're nearly there with that. (unless you have the weight for NPC fasts + Technos)
Would need a lot more weapons aswell. Not sure if you've used all the possible AP's there.
-
The weight limit is calling you! Go meet it! ;P
Anyway, yeah, ty4er is right, especially regarding the burst piston wedge o.o
In fact, if you get the wedge off the piston, you can take all the airtanks out.
And remember, the replicas aren't very strong or hard to beat.
-
Dreadnought is a poor battler, as most of the replicas.
Burst piston wedge is an original idea, but probably a worthless one.
-
Id say you'd best go on stock.
In my opinion, remove those side razors, and remove the storm burst. Then stick a wedge on,and remove the air tanks, and the battle pack. Then id say upgrade to NPC drive.
-
The Bad
Get a metal hinge wedge
WTF airtanks, remove them
WTF burst piston, remove it
Remove top and side razors
Build to the weight limit
NPC Fast drive motors
Change to Plastic 3 or Titanium 3
Probably shrink chassis
Remove the red battery
6 ants only
The Good
Hypno wheels
Razors
BSGs
Ant batteries
Dude, you better get to work.
-
Burst piston wedge is an original idea, but probably a worthless one.
*Goes to test*
-
Ok with all the upgrades I (with the frame of sonic rainboom) Made a new bot: Behind Bars. (https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/19424BehindBars.JPEG) 1mm plastic.
-
too slow + amour too weak
-
1mm Plastic is VERY weak. Improve it.
You'll want to improve the drive motors as well, Astros+Technos are a havok bomb waiting to happen (I know this from experience)
Perhaps the Air tanks are a bit overkill, I'd be happy with two at maximum.
It'd be better if the machine was properly invertible as well, without the need for the funny anti-immobiliser assembly on the top.
-
Been a long time since I have seen such an unefficient drive...
Needs to be invertible, also the baseplate anchors are worthless (especially the top one), and never use Technos with anything less than a NPC Fast. I would recommend the classic Vlads + NPC Fast here. Also needs to be less fragile.
-
As pwnator (i think) once said: If you cannot reach the robot, it doesn't matter what armor, And it is also fairly fast, even with astros.
-
Which is why you can risk the 1mm plastic only when you have halfsheet and DSL disc armor. Wedges can still OHKO your bot. Just go for Mag/NPC + Hypnos/Vlads.
