Haha I built something like that about 3 years ago, only with cheat components. You gotta make sure it doesn't whack itself back and forth like crazy and that it doesn't damage its weapon motors when striking. Otherwise, pretty good design.

Absolute no clipping between chassis and components (eg, blades passing through scoop) has been assured. It's more the actual design of the weapon that isn't IRL.  :laughing

Anyway, spent the last hour or so bashing out a couple more robots.

No way you can fit the burst in the chassis?

I probably could if I dropped the disc weapon at the back. I felt it helped with the look and feel of the flipper, though.

Would it be better to change it to drop the disc entirely and put the burst inside?

See if putting the burst inside and mounting the disk horizontally instead of vertically works.

That sounds like the best idea. Then you might be able to downgrade it to a tmw3r and use the spare weight on something else. If it's a weapon on the back it's not going to get much chance to do anything anyway.

Make so that the flipper and the VS are mounted on the same side so you don't need to turn and can ai it properly.

I do keep forgetting that while a disc on the rear of a flipper is perfectly viable IRL, in RA2 it's woefully inefficient.

I've rebuilt it without a disc. Pics soon.

The tentative prototype Formaldehyde 1.5.

Initial testing has shown the flipper to be....utter crap.

I like the new Formaldehyde, even if it can't flip much.

SFJF is kinda bland IMO but you did a decent job at skinning it. It'd be better if it wasn't a white box.

Cheers, bud.

I'm sure I'll get better at skinning so that I can do better than images and text over a white box.  :dumb)
