Fair points all round.

I'm coming fairly close to ditching this display tournament idea anyway. Time is running out for me to learn to AI, record, upload, and basically do EVERYTHING before I go to university and the chances of me having time to do it decrease even further.

I think I need to rethink what I'm going to do about this showcase. Maybe spend more time on building efficient bots rather than pooping out wave after wave of generic Robot Wars entries.

-attempts to build efficient IRL.

- fails miserably.

Hate Culture was meant to be a potential entry for Rob's IRL tournament. Which is STILL causing me a headache because I'm determined to try and prove myself as a good IRL builder.  :dumb)

Yeah, I hate extender work while trying to make weapons and suchlike look supported. It's mostly the whole 'interlapping components' or whatever.

I'm not good with advice; I'll give it a shot:

Here, these look like they're floating, and with the remaining weight you have, how about two angled T connectors, with red extenders going into the chassis (on the outer extenders)?

Protecting your wheels is a good idea, even though I've never done it myself, hah. If you look at both pictures, they're just oddly constructed.

You have two red extenders here, if you've placed them correctly, you could maybe have extenders going to the side (to outside the chassis), then next to the wheel, for a side protection; not cornered. If they aren't placed there correctly, you might have enough room to do what I said with two newly placed red extenders.

Again, I'm not good with advice, so apologies if it wasn't good!

While I don't have time right now to read through and adjust the robot (going out in a minute woo yay actually leaving the house), I will say that while the wheelguards may not look useful in their positioning, they actually touch the floor in order to stabilise the machine. It kept falling over sideways everytime it's weapon span without them.  :dumb)

You don't need to waste weight protecting your wheels. They just need to be placed out of reach of your opponent's weapons and your bot needs to be fast enough to avoid wheel damage.

Rule of thumb : good speed + good offense = you win, in the vast majority of cases. You don't need defense to win, although always be careful not to have crippling weakpoints exposed.

IRL in general wants to have the least external components possible, which is why the roles of a wedge and drive protection are pretty much done by the chassis as well. Otherwise, it would take some extra effort to make everything look clean.
Clash Cubes 1 - Grey Matter (Runner-Up)
King of Karnage - Sideshow Freak (Runner-Up, Best Engineered)
Rust In Pieces - Paper Cut 3 (Grand Champion, Most Dangerous Bot)
Wheely Tag Tournament - Ion Thruster (Grand Champion, along with Ounces' DiSemboweLment)
UK vs USA - Dark Striker (Grand Champion)
Rust In Pieces 2 - Claymore (Runner-Up, Favourite Bot)
BBEANS 6 - Infection 4 (Runner-Up)
RA2 Team Championships - Serious Business, Skeksis (Runner-Up, along with Scrappy, S_M, and Badnik)
RA2 Team Championships 2 - The Other Stig (Runner-Up, along with Scrappy, S_M, Badnik, 090901, and R1885)
Replica Wars 3 - Abaddon (Runner-Up, Luckiest Bot)
BroBots - wheebot & yaybot (Runner-Up)
Robo Zone 2 - Dipper (4th place, Survival Champion, & Best Axle Bot)
ARBBC - The Covenant (3rd place, BW Rumble Winner, Most Feared BW)

you really dont need a wedge for that, just make the front of the chassis longer or something if its unstable. and you could try and have those extenders at the back go all the way down the bot like some sort of spine.

i think just having the weapon further back is a better idea

I appreciate all the feedback. I'll work on adjusting it tomorrow, I think. Not sure where I want to take the design, really.

Horizontal > vertical, anyway.

This one's definitely more combat effective. The wedge certainly works.
It gets under Bulldog Breed's front, anyway, which I tend to struggle with.

More weapons, smaller disc, more drive (by that I mean NPC+hypnos), less empty space, and 1 or 2 additional batteries.

More empty space.  I mean you are already such a huge target with open chassis, might as well go all the way and have a 10x10 chassis slope.

no it's fine

Get rid of the metal hinges and use a skirt hinge if you want a wedge. It can still be made effective.

Use the extra weight for stronger weaponry.

The skirt hinge would stick out of the chassis and look ugly as

Please don't think I'm ignoring all your advice. You all know better than me and I'd be foolish to forget that.

The thing is....I just get new ideas instead of adjusting old ones.

This was gonna be a lightweight pusher. But the game crashed while I was taking screenshots so I haven't tested it in battle or taken any inside shots.

All I remember is that it was Plastic 1, two TMRsomething something drives, Hypno wheels and 247.0. Unnamed as well.

The bit without a skirt is the back of the robot. I figured that it was quick enough to keep it away from opponents. Kept the weight down too.

(yes this was inspired by savethewhale's comment of 10X10 CHASSIS WEDGE LOL)

by NPC naryar probably means the npc fasts.

yes the wedged HS does have a large amount of empty space. a dual mag is far too much for 6 LDS teeth as well. drop down to a single one and get some better/stronger weapons on there.

How you make Alarm Clock Pizza is:
Step 1: You buy an alarm clock from the store, and then you have to break it and put it in the sauce.
Step 2: Fold the sauce in 5 slices and put it in the dough.
Step 3: Paint the eggs with a pitcher of a clock showing what time you want to wake up and eat pizza for breakfast.
Step 4: Put the eggs in the dough.
Step 5: Make it flat into a round shape and draw the time you want on it.
Step 6: Put some old steel to prevent other peple from stealing it.
Step 7: Make it flat and cut into 60 slices 1 for each minute in 1 our.
Step 8: Put in the oven set the timer to 30048813.2884 seconds and put the temperature on 'Volcano' setting.
Step 9: If you think it is take to long, then get yor alarm clock and set it to now so that it will ring and you can take it out.
Step 10: Take it out uv the uvin wen it is redy and go to bed. In the morning eat pizza and also eat yor hands bi mistake.
