If your bots dragging to the right then you probably will need some bigger wheels (i've had the same problem with one of my bots and that's how i fixed it).

Then again it could just be the external armour weighing one side down more than the other.

Or you could have just forgot to assign the controls to one of the motors  :p

1 is false, 2 is possible but i doubt it, 3 is possible.

Turn the wheels randomly... and HW popups need much more power :P
I hope you mean that 1 is false for this robot and not me lying about my personal experience

I mean 1 is false for this robot. Ti halfsheets are not worth it on popups anyway.

Very messy extender work. Side protection shouldn't be of paramount importance, with popups you should focus on having as much weaponry as possibly, and the best wedges you can have. And for some reason batteries don't affect weight distribution, but CB's do, so swap your control board for the bigger version (less weight) and place it in the middle of the bot. Building a bot symmetrically balances out the weight on both sides, so it shouldn't veer off course as you drive it. =]

Indeed. Making a popup symmetrical (or at least weight-balanced so it's center of gravity is on the middle line) is important if you want it to be good.

Wish I could, but I haven't been blessed with moderator powerz.

WHAT ? Back then when we had that moderator promotion and myself & Pwn were crowned, you said you were fine with vet !

Na it needs more defense.  Why do people insist 1 titanium sheet is enough in the front?  That and top of chassis is so open.

Just get rid the whole bunch of skirts on the bottom that isn't protecting anything.

Well it's been a while since I've posted here so I got a new one for ya guys.

Cobalt-60
3 ants
1 mm aluminum
16 razors

I was lurking in Philetbabe's showcase and found an interesting lightweight. I wanted to make a middleweight of it, so here you go.

I hope you're using the drive version of the TWM3R2, because otherwise that is going to spin very slowly.  Also a few other small improvements could be made:

I think using single flipper segments for stabilizers would be better than the aluminum extender/ME setup you have now.

Even though it is unlikely that the chassis will be hit, I recommend using another armor besides 1mm Al.  I suggest 3mm plastic (or 5mm if you can afford the weight).

Replace the T-connector with something else since it only has 1000 HP for its weight (although I think you would be screwed anyway if a gut-ripper lands a good hit in that area).

Thanks ounce. I'm on my way. Also the drive motors are the fast ones.

Here's a new one guys, Thorium-232:

Sorry for the poor croping.
Anyways this one is unstable, a hard hitter and took a long time to build. I think I went through 8 revisions.
1 ant and a large orange battery
1mm aluminum
Alot of extender work.

Constructive critiszem is appreciated.

P.S. Thank you Ounce for the tips on Cobalt-60. It works much better now .

Always happy to help!

Anyway, I don't think a wedge would be best for this design, and from this angle I can't think of how to improve your extender work.  However if you get rid of the wedge setup and improve the extender work then you can use the weight gained to strengthen the stabilizers.

You could also free some weight by using a smaller chassis with 4-6 ants in it (beware though: a chassis this small is very vulnerable, so it's best to add bottom armor, like half-sheets or casters, to protect it from gut-rippers).

I'm confused at how it can be unstable with stabilizers that long, but maybe moving the stabilizers farther forward will make it more stable.

Lastly, see if you can apply better armor; 1mm Al isn't very good.

The extender work on this looks a bit messy, in my view. And I'd probably look to get 4 ants or so in there, and improve the armour, possibly Plastic 3 or 5. You'll still need bottom armour, though.

I'll updqte it tomarrow. Thanks for the advice. I don't know how a "bird's eye view" would help your viewing of the robot.

At this point its kind of zoomed in on a part of it. If we get a farther-out view, we can see the extenders, weapons, etc. and how well they all fit together, along with how big things like stabilizers and wedges are.
I built that big robot on that TV show that time

Thanks! It's fairly stable except for the spin up. What would make it more stable?

Longer stabilizers of course, or moving the weapons farther back.
