Well, im bored of stock for a time so I have decided to try DSL.



Anyways, this is my third ever DSL bot; the other two are ridiculously bad.

Criticise away :D

Well, Ive changed the wedges to simple hinges, since i've read somewhere that they are better at being wedgy than the skirt hinge sort (correct me if i'm wrong :P). The armour is also 10mm plastic (I really need to learn my armours:P) and the skirts on top are mounted on those red and black baseplate connector things.

Plastic and tite are the best armors. Use 2 metal hinges for the wedges and get technos for wheels, then you can get rid of those skits ob top. Use 2 perm 80's for weapons.

that bot actually isn't bad. raise the NPCs and put bigger wheels on (preferably Techno Destructos) then get rid of the srimechs and get rid of 1 ant battery. Then shrink the chassis so that there is no empty space.

Remove the Mags and instead, make your bot invertible. Techno's would be really nice, and I would recommend Titanium 5 over Plastic 10. Also...

This is the only bad advice I've seen here, I wouldn't recommend battlepacks. 1 ant is enough to power 1 motor, no matter what the motor is (apart from if it's a burst). But yeah, invertability and empty space need to be sorted.

It's better than the average first showcased bot... and while not exceptionally designed, isn't a noob bot.

Anyways, complete breakdown !

-Make it invertible rather than wasting weight on a srimech. Techno wheels might be a good choice.
-Use smaller drums and larger bars, that will protect the drum components more and you don't want your drums gone before your beaters.
-4-5 ant batteries are enough for this.

Seems like it probably will be.

However, yeah, you shoudl use smaller drums and larger bits. I don't reccomend any spike bigger than Large DSL teeth (IN LENGH) for drums.

Other than that, this is shaping up to be an OK bot.

Thanks guys.

It now has wheely big cheese wheels (Technos don't make it invertible), Small Drums and medium beater bars (6 drums) and i have 36kg left to play with. I also changed the hinges to the skirt hinge to save weight :S (Should I change back?).I wouldn't mind another weapon on the ends of the drums for max killing potential. Though I may add another ant battery as well.

And since last night, I've made another bot, a little more interesting. It needs a name, and an inventive one would be appreciated. It does better than I thought it would though :D



Should I change the skirts to snowploughs? They were put there because I'd forgotten how to wire the bot to go left and right for a bit, so it turned slowly. Fixed now, though.

Ive shrunk the chassis, removed a couple drums and made the beater bars bigger, as they make the drums harder to kill (so the fs's don't fall off, and they make good weapons if the bot happens to be upside down on another bot:P). Tis invertible now, with Wheely Big Cheese wheels (sorry but i love them). I'll get hold of nar AI, and the space. Yeah. Its gotten a little better with this one (I shrunk the chassis, but not enough, I think), but there is still spare stuff. Eventually I'll get it right. I'll try again after tea. :)

You should either keep the drums or add another row of spinners, that bot's gonna get outweaponed fast.

Well, I've taken the ideas from the last two bots and changed them so they are better (hopefully).

The first one is a little short on weapons, so I'll need suggestions for which ones to add.
The second one is not short of them, thankfully.
I've also learned how to AI them, so the battle thingies are all AI'ed :)





I may make a VS soon to join them :)

1)5 ants in the first, 6 in the second, maybe more.
2)Small wedges die too quickly for my liking :S
