1 ant for each spin motor you use, and more for each burst - 2 for a BSG, 4 for a small JX, 6 for a large JX.
If you intend to get NAR AI v2.3 you might want to use battlepacks though since they have more total power now.

Well, I have made a new popup- but It has 7 ants and 2 battlepacks for 2 NPC Fasts and 2 Large JX (Will it be enough for NAR 2.3 and normal DSL?). Steel 5 armour and about 16 razors again, maybe a couple more.
Ive also made the wedges longer on the juggler, works so much better now, thanks :) I'm also trying to improve the block from
using my new wedge setup- at the moment I feel its underweaponed, though it doesnt do too badly. Tite 3 or 5, cant remember which.
I will skin them both eventually XD.

Popup's not fast enough to be good and the middle wedge isn't doing much.
7 ants + 2 battlepacks is enough.

The weight gained from removing the middle wedge has let me get techno's- anything else I can do to it?

Another new bot- but this time a little different. Still a popup though.
This is Attackers Above and Below 2- needs a better name lol. Tite 5, and the JX's are the small kind. The front burst fires up, in proper popup style- while the back fires downwards, towards the front of the bot on top of it. The firestorm wedge is there because I needed something to use the rest of the weight, and I like it. However, I'm split between whether its realistic, edging the borderline or not at all. Though I have tried to make it as realistic as possible.
Theres 9 ants and 16 razors on the bot altogether.

Although it looks nice, I see a few problems.
1. Realisticness-Cannot tell if they do or not, but if those razor tips cut all the way across the firestorm flipper, then they are unrealistic.
2.Too skinny-Skinny popups make it easier for a bot to fall off the top. Then the bot is on its wheels, and it flanks the popup, leading to a loss.
3. Drive- NPC Fasts would be better. as they are smaller, and more makes it faster for the weight than just one pair of E-Teks. And I don't know what the hitpoints of an E-Tek is, but if it is low, it is a bad thing that they are quite exposed.

1)Good point- they do. Ill use the weight left over for something else.
2+3)I'll AI it and see how it goes. But I will make a wider version with NPC fasts.

You need one or two more ants, also the drive should be directly attached to the multi's.
I am also unsure about using steel extenders as they're not exposed much...
But if you want a fast popup, keep eteks.

I like that bot, the cheese wedge shape makes it interesting (as opposed to the flat top that 99% of other popups have).

New bot, or rather upgrade of the earlier juggler. Nabbed an idea from Shiva (*cough*) as I couldn't get skirt hinges to fit where I wanted. Weight is 796.6, or something like that (Thanks Craaig:P).
Its quite good by my standards, its only problem is it is not invertible and can't self right. At least it can move around on its discs if upside down. All info is i the splash, hopefully I haven't missed anything. I'd love to perfect this bot as good as I can :D

Jugglers aren't meant to be invertible anyway. As long as you got your wedges right (which you did), it's all good. :D
You could have a cleaner setup for your side armor, though. Light plows would be better for that.

Well, it gets under HN4, TIB and its previous incarnation 50% of the time. I've also changed the skirts and stuff for ploughs on the sides (thanks pwn). Probably my best HW at the moment :D

Tried making an flail popup thing, inspired by Ludicrous Speed. Didn't work too well though. Beats grog if I'm driving. Steel 5, 5 ants. 6 razors and 8 irons ish (the irons do more damage than the razors). 180 degree flaily thingies, 90 degree ones aren't too good either. Metal hinge wedges. Not entirely realistic either. At least I tried:P

It wors the same way as Click's Ludicrous Speed, except that instead of being flipped when the bot smacks the DSL bars (Hinge mounted), extenders with razors pop up (like a popup) and smack the bottom of the bot. Its like a popup without bursts. Its also hard for me to explain XD. Might make a video when I get home later of how it works. Not that it works well though.

Ah, an inertia powered true popup.
Interesting design but i bet it deals LOW damage. Will try to build one.
