You can do a MW juggler/drum hybrid, and even with MW and such an hybrid you can manage to be above average by DSL-S standards... just use less weapon weight in general. Change these discs to 4kg hexplates as well. I would just use 1 drum part, not 2.

Your wedge is pretty bad, mostly the upper one.

Hmm, I don't think the DSL-S regulars would appreciate that. The Beater bars are mounted sideways on the disc, the asymmetrical design of the front skirt doesn't look aesthetically pleasing

Aesthetics and DSL Standard do not go together.

hurr the world is black and white durr

The fact that DSL-S cares more about effectiveness than aesthetics doesn't mean it doesn't care at all about the second one.

actually a very good DSL-S bot should be very cool looking... simply when you build DSL-S, you certainly don't put crap on your bot JUST because it looks good.

the asymmetrical design of the front skirt doesn't look aesthetically pleasing

We don't care. In DSL-S we care more about efficiency than looks. Yes it looks bad, but the main point it that it is a very sloppy wedge.

The last part of your quote is what I meant, you French tard.

Improved again:

Upgraded NPC normals to NPC fasts, removed the plow, added some small beater bars between the razor tips, and added a longer bottom wedge.

Beaters aligned like that make it worse, unless I'm wrong. (ra2physics)

The bot would have to be fed higher to get hit by the beaters when aligned like that, which will make your bot less stable while turning when there's something on it due to center of gravity shenanigans.

The weapons also wont hit at the same time so less damages. And you'll probably need some kind of stabiliser at the back to make sure it doesn't flip itself during a wedge war.

Got bored, so an IRL happened:

Uses Suicidal Tendencies's wedge from Wham's excellent Robot Wars AI pack, and has a glitchy skin. Fitting the wedge was a pain.
@martymidget I will have a look at fixing this stuff later.

Basically that robot would go to the custom component showcase section but oh well. Looks good though.

I must warn you that it is a poor weapon, mostly because rotating weapons who are made of only 1 weapon component are poorly handled by the game engine.

When you say weapon component are you referring to the single weapon motor, or the spiked clubs? I'm guessing the spiked clubs, which I used only for looks really. Anyway, I put a conventional drum on it:

The spiked clubs. Weapon motor isn't a weapon component,

By weapon component I mean anything that is in the weapon botlab category and which does damage

A few new IRL robots to showcase:
1: A 4-Bar flipper (I believe that's what they're called?)

2: A T-Minus style flipper:

3: A weird drill robot:

Use something else than a pointy tip (who has normals) for that drill. Razor tips ?

also i'm pretty sure everyone will get under your flipper because it has nonexistent wedges.

That drill gives me ideas though, can be done in a more PIERCING THE HEAVENS way.

And so, in a lame attempt to prove to himself that he isn't entirely useless at DSL S, Lemonism builds a LW poker.

Insides:

Titanium 1, 247.9, NPC normals, 4 razors, 3 ants, 2 medium air tanks.
