Here is my first real DSL bot,Magic Box 3.0!
Sorry about the pics,I don't know how to get them big.
So anyway,please tell me how to improve my efforts! :bigsmile:

It might be slightly overpowered, you could remove just 1 ant batt.
Also the old Stock anglers are useless in DSL... and build to weight limit !

So this is my latest bot,Dennis.
He's kind of underwight,but I think I did pretty well on him.
P.S. I'm gonna introduce a new system of scoring my bots!Rate 'em /10. :smile:

1 : Shrink the chassis
2 : dont use the stock extenders like the T connectors use the DSL ones.
3 : replace the base extender with a multi-extender.
4 : Change the extender on the base extender to a flipper segment.
Score 6/10

Also, don't use BMP's, cause they take a billion years to load.

Honestly your first bot was better.
Unprotected chassis, steep chassis wedge, failed at lower wedge setup.... what else ?
4/10 and i am being nice.

Hah ! Try the NAR AI MW's (or even Hazcon first) before saying a static wedge is good.

DP. My latest bot an SnS very much like Haymaker.
I'm quite proud of it as it beat The Boxer's Revenge in Nar AI.
Some of the batteries are stacked,and the armor is 1mm plastic.
Sorry,I forgot about profile pics.The weight is 396.6.Trust me. :mrgreen:

You only needed 4 ants max for this bot. So you won't need to stack.

Don't stack batts in DSL. And 1mm tite is the minimum on any bot IMO.

The bot's not bad, but i think The Boxer's Revenge is in the top 5 worst bots of NAR AI.

I was trying to make a clone of Pwn's Flight Instructor, and failed miserably.
Armor is Plastic 1.

Anyway with that aside. That would be a wedge killer if you turn the perm upside-down.

given how high the weapon is you could have easily done away with 1 or 2 of those flipper segments

Just get a lower chassis so you don't have to worry about the weapons slicing through the cover. :P

That was as low as I could get.

to get the bot lower click one pixel below the height slider. it makes a robot as low as it can be, and also makes it invertible with hypno wheels. hope i helped

Needs another ant and you should try to make it invertible.

Anyway, just get rid of the flails and the tooth and just use a hex plate. And again, SHRINK THE CHASSIS to get the weight for stabilizers.

You've got a chassis one unit long. You should be able to fit an ant in front of an astro, let alone a control board.

You clearly can fit an AX2550 in this chassis if you try hard enough.

Only needs 3 ants, use Hypno's, and rotate the multiextenders so the motors attatch to the multiextender.

4 ants is fine.
Again, shrink the chassis. Instead of a long and thin chassis, use a wide and short one so you don't have to attach the slims externally. With the free weight, find a way to protect that mag.

One of the multi extender's attach points is unequal to the other. If you get NAR AI 2.2, there is a multi extender that shows you the right attach points. If you don't then just rotate the multi extender on the left side of your bot 180 degrees.

Slower drive would benifit this design. right now it doesnt have enough weapons and has enough drive for a HW or even a SHW. Try NPC or NPC Fasts with tornado or vlad wheels and add a lot more weapons see how that goes.

Oh yeah Armour is like Plastic 1, I could've gotten rid of the small DSL teeth, and had plastic 3 if it weren't for that bloody glitch.

The glitch in the armor menu where it'll only let you have 1mm armor.

That doesn't exist. It just looks like you have 1mm armour, but you have whatever you actually picked.

Because you already have 3mm.
Known Issues:
If you apply armor and then go back to the armor menu, it will show you as having 1 mm armor. If your bot is near 800 kgs, it won't let you reapply or upgrade your current armor until you apply 1 mm or lighter armor. It does not affect the game, it is merely an annoyance.

No. It's fine as is (low ground clearance for weapons).
But it's a bit too long. Just go with a wider box chassis (instead of that thin T chassis you have there) so you won't have to use the long-axled drive.

The chassis is too big, you could make it a lot smaller, and you don't need the Flipper Segments if you use Perm 80 m's or l's, or maybe if you need it, el's.

That's a LOT of empty space. And the hammers in the middle of the bars seem utterly pointless to me. E-Tek Drive seems fine, but a bit too wide for my liking. Also remove the ice picks and flags, and get another couple of 70kg hammers on the weapon arms.

E-tek drive is too bulky and heavy to be much use for anything IMO.
I'd just use npc fasts to save weight and sp.ace

The middle hammers are useless.
You should also only use long CO2 tanks, and the flamethrowers have no reach. Put them closer to the extremities (aka the hammers)

I say keep 'em there, along with the E-Tek Drive. Once it's spinning, it should throw the flames pretty far, and they're less likely to get taken off there, in my view.
