Hello, I am JDG37, creator of Armorgeddon 2, defeated 7th seed from the Redditbots tournament season 1. I am sharing images of my hastily made entry, as well as those of the current iteration im still fine tuning for the next heavyweight tournament.

This design was rather rushed for tournament entry. Didn't test it in combat until after submission period was closed.
Drivetrain proved very weak, plus the combination of the weapon placement and drivetrain being too weak to properly use the wedges, the design proved underpowered for proper heavyweight competition.
Still put up an admirable fight against Black Wolf (the 7 seed was waaay too generous).

The current design has seen greater success with a human driver vs DSL AI. Still leaves a lot to be desired. Too undersized and quick to be toppled vs larger bots. Would make a better middleweight.

Oh man, that Mk.II looks vicious. TBH I think you think you deserve some kinda credit for entering a CW (cruiserwright) into a HW tournament, and then getting seeded that highly and putting up a good fight! I think we both learned our lesson from Redditbots: you can never do too much testing and refinement.

Back casters are completely unnecessary, they can be static extenders and achieve the same effect, saving you weight. The cleprechaun arm being used as a srimech looks out of place as well.
Other than that, it looks really good for a newcomer. Welcome to GTM!

Having just spent the last hour or so working on my entries for Kurt's tournament because their extender supports weren't good enough, I can very much confirm this :dumb) You'll pick it up quickly, I've been here less than three weeks and already I feel like my IRL designs are a lot better than they were before I joined.

Yeah was a new venture for me. I'd been toying with the game for a few months and saw the tournament with les than 24 hours to submit, so I skipped test battles. The mk2 gets under opponents far easier, though I doubt ai would pin them as well.
Ps. Thought vertigo was one of the coolest designs.

Back casters are just the current attempt to lesten getting toppled during a box rush. And the cleprechaun arm is also temporary to search for best srimech option. Will probably try to return towards the dual "cannon" srimech of the redditbots entry.

Thanks for the welcome. I've been trying to rework the weapon setup away from the perm anyway. Takes up a lot of weight and space. Current goal is to maintain a decent drum or disc with lifting arms hidden in the wedges. First attempt is promising though probably need a different chasis design.

Just toying with a different motor setup. Trying a design w/o using perms, plus trying to rework my original srimech look. The Mk2 still performs far better, but needs improved self righting. Also trying to improved pushing and wedge use with more power. Overall goal is to (somehow) get the MK2 closer to MW, while trying to establish a 4wd heavyweight.
In the end I know I'll need to change the chasis again to hold the larger perm, then work on improving IRL supports.

Yes, i'm starting to realize that the plow design probably won't work for an ai bot. Works fine when i'm using speed to drift to an opponents side or back to get under them, but as i'm slowly practicing ai-ing my own bots, I realize this will need to be changed.

Wellllll, not sure. It lasted 2 minutes w/ two ants, haven't survived any matches long enough to see how far 4 gets me.

Its been replaced w/ a 40cm aluminum rod, 45 angle piece, and steel wedge. Looks a lot more natural, also flips better too.

Yeah. Minimizing chasis as far as I can, then putting a crossbar through it. Then I build upon that crossbar. That way the entire "chasis" can get spread all over the arena. More realistic and fun imo.

Updated Ice Cutter. Finally got the weapon support extenders looking good and Tombstone-esque. Now to just decide on how I want to structure the armor a little better. Now HW is the only option, since weapon enhancement and supports have pushed it well past Middleweight.

Haven't had just a ton of time to update lately (holidays and all), but here are my 3 main bot projects (sorry for multipost)
First is an update of my HW Megiddo (V1 recently seen in Sword of Glory HW heat 3)

Front plow has been redesigned, so hopefully no more face planting. I haven't been able to give it a "proper" functioning srimech as of yet, hopefully can work one out for v3. Anyway, look for it in the HW division of Cybernetic Coliseum.
Next is my MW ring spinner entry for Cybernetic Coliseum. This is Octonut.

Fun to play with at least. I liked Spinaroo, Mate, and wanted to make one of my own. Will probably be the first bot I try to skin (paint.net won't work on my old laptop for some reason, so I've had to hold off trying to skin anything).
Last is the bot I just made today in hopes of entering Bittybots. This is RedPecker, and he tries his best.

He performs pretty well against DSL stock bots, but I'm not sure how the use of the Behemoth axe will go over. Overall, good practice for making a LW since that's what the next Redditbots season will be also.

I think Megiddo would look better with all 4 wheels the same size. I like the other two though, particularly the axe bot.

I am in full agreement about the wheels. That was just my lazy way to make it at least semi-invertible (looks god awful though).
Problem has been a) getting some sort of srimech to fit, and b) getting one with enough power to overturn an 800kg HW.
Ideally it would function like Witch Doctor's ugly older brother. From its first go in the Sword of Glory it at least performed about as well as with human control. Get under bot, plow and push to wall, power OOTA.

Yeah...its bad. weapon concept works like a really weak popup, and the rest is just a yellow box w/ too long of axles. Weapon setup will probably be reworked into something like Warhead wings later on.

My goal is to practice component skinning on the Hypno Disc and Iron Fist to make them look like a shell and a turtle head...hopefully.
Overall, lots of speed, "shell" is used to selfright, but the angle of the hypno disc (chosen for aesthetic reasons) makes it hard to get spinner contact on opponents. Will probably try other teeth setups. Oh yeah, and will rework the frame so its all one color.
Next is a teaser of my current entry into Light v Dark. Meet the Big Black Saw.

VS that can run inverted. Based on some weird mashup of Nightmare and Wrecks. I want to streamline the body section to look a bit more sleak, more angular. Whole thing was based on wanting to play with weapon supports.

I think the HS would look better with a flat disc, but that would defeat the whole turtle thing.

2nd try making this MW extender drum, 2nd time ending up with a (underweight) cruiser (550kg even w/ a steel back plate).
Oh well, will chop the width down to 2 medium drums later and see if that helps.

Surprisingly manageable. Haven't let ai take the controls yet (that's probably where it will go to hell), but so far the cobra wheels have kept it going.

Hexplates were used in an attempt to get armor plates flush with extenders.
Used CF to have one drum section overlap the piglet.

Thank you all. I have really enjoyed learning and getting new ideas of what can be accomplished in this old game.
And now, today's project. A shark themed rammer with the dorsal fin as a Srimech. Will probably try a 180 BFE on the flipper motor so it can be a hammer as well as a srimech. Currently has 2x TWMRdrive motors w/ growler wheels and all aluminum everything. 2 black batteries and the mini receiver.

Here is my attempt at a FBS framebot. Hopefully will see it in a faceoff with Rob, Demon and RedAce's FBS bots.
Gaps in the shell were for a different look compared to solid shells. Ends up being a low damage spammer, no real knockout ability, but got an OOTA on Kyros' by being a very effective speedbump.

So i stumbled upon a nest of eggs, and lo and beholdch, I discovered a new batch of turtle bots!
First up is the runt, a Beetleweight weighting 173.9kg, and sporting Pl1 armor. Honestly he was a mistake based on somehow forgetting that LW wasn't 150kg.

Quick little MW under cutter to mix things up. Based loosely on Jamison Go's US antweight DDT. Went for biggest disc I could.
Drive is 2x TWMR drives, with a Perm 120 powering the 200 cm disc. Armor is Pl3.

Oh it's just a rabbit hole project, zero tourney plans for this fella.
But yes it's a mix of trying to make a LW gadreel (not liking results) and then mixing in GG since potter's wheels are rediculous. The saws (and basically all active weaponry) are just thrown in for fun.
Update: hmmm can I turn these PW variations into a Nuts style bot? Maybe. Why? Because.

Went into this planning to overhaul ASBS into not an extenderbot, but ended up melting it into another design I'd been planning to do, which had been in turn affected by watching Aftershock murder things.
So here is the currently titled 2 Average. MW, Ti3 armor, 398.5 kg. Hopefully will make time to skin it sooner or later.

Hmmmmm...gonna have to see what halfcocked thing I can come up with there. Hate the AW, SHW sounds much better. Had already wanted to do something Gamera related, and this could be it if I have time. Lots of spinning, lots of fire.
Will probably also mod the LW mini with small typhoon teeth and use that 20kgs elsewhere.

Throwing out the last 3 bots I'm entering into Doot's big ole tourney of killing himself slowly.
CW - A Bit Pointy. Its a Thwack, cause why not. Haven't really made one yet, and wanted to make one with 4 NPCFasts for drive. It also rams pretty good.
HW - Blood Lotus. An Apex based bot that reused ABP's chasis, but with an angled HS blade setup I wanted to try using 4 katanas trimming a titanium pole with hammer ends.
SHW - An "upgraded" Big Black Saw, now a SHW with better armor and rediculous drive. Will it do as poorly as the first BBS? Hopefully not thaaaat bad. Also the only extender bot I've entered.

Thanks man. Other than the Apex style superKatanas (the driving concept for the bot) it still needs some refining. Will probably go through and give it its own custom chasis (reused the CW's out of impatience), as well as sorting out a better end cap than those moe hammers.

Thanks all for the compliments. All of these are still basically concepts in progress. XA is just going for biggest discs possible, needs lots of stability work. Mole is Tor2uga but trying to mix in pieces from the balance patch (also swapping weapon power for drive at this stage). Fen and TB are the same chasis, drive, etc, just flipped. Fen has several different setups at this point, none of them just feel like the perfect fit. TB I just wanted to make a gut ripping drum, now if could just self-right.

Move on, those are great bots jdg37! I not only like the fact that you skin the disk of Lin Fen, but I happen to like some of the character behind some of the bots. The mole for example just feels like a real mole with the paws and the black extenders, representing the black fur of a mole that make me what to fall in love like with Tor2uga that was so well made. I don't really have a lot to critique, but you're doing great.

Early stage concept. It's a cookie, it's a crab, it's Mr Cookie. MW, Al5(?), invertible, miniminion disc on a flatmotor.
Most pertinent fix is I need to widen the large claw spread so that opponents can go deeper and get hit by the disc. Fast and fun to use though.
Oh and maybe I'll skin the disc too. Could skin bot and claws to be a crab, and make the disc a cookie, who knows.

Seriously though, good work. not sure using sawblades are a good idea but whatever looks coolest. just maybe go swiss army so you can have a traditional sort of disc as well as a sawblade.

It's definitely more on the gimmicky irl side (it did start off inspired by Wrecks sans walking legs). Either way though, it may end up morphing into a more competitive bot later on. Head on though the stacked 4-5 sawblades still can pack a punch

Eh, not very. The slaphappy blade isn't really made for wedging.

You could make it slightly skinnier and longer so the blade is flush with the chassis edge and just let the wedgelets do their job, but I don't think that warrants a full rebuild.

if you could widen the windmills just a little so the weapons werent clipping each other it would be perfect

May try to work with the windmill setup later. Tribars were just to check out something besides a disc or dsl bar. Got plenty of weight to play with (don't remember if those are the 25 or 30kg tribars + 60kgs of big beaters). Started life as trying to make a lw big disc vs, but lost the plot when i couldn't keep it under 260 (and still look decent)

So been a while. New job has kept me busy, but here is what my previous weapon idea morphed into. Bitr, a big meme disc used mostly to support steel wedgelets as the teeth (for some reason using these was my central concept at the time). As the name implies, it has some good bite. Verrrrry low damage potential, but actually tosses other MWs into the air (oh yeah, it’s a MW btw. To be competing in RG2)
Really just a Wrecks inspired monstrosity, will probably switch to a more “realistic” blade or disc if I actually come back to it.
Not much to show internally. Running on two slim body drives and a black batt. Weapon is a flat.

My only complaint would be that the disc teeth seem a bit glued on, rather than part of the disc. Lovely bot overall though, I've always been a sucker for VS with huge-ass discs.
