Ok, so here's a funny story of how I just made RA2 history on accident:
So I tried rebuilding the first DSL bot I EVER posted on here, Rolling Pin Of Doom. It used to look like this:
And now it looks like this:
You see those desert tan extenders that are supposed to mimic arms? Well, when I was testing this bot out and started it's weapon, I happened to also be moving the bot in the opposite direction of the drums, causing the extenders to torque-react. I tried a few more times and realized there's another way to make torque reaction bots.
This led to me making THIS thing:
This is the prototype version of "Flipping Crazy", which functions EXACTLY like a torque-reaction bot IRL could, with the assistance of drums acting as gyroscopes that move the opposite direction of the wheels if they move either forward or backward. No more did we need to use non-wheel components to make torque reaction bots.
Then, I improved the design to use saws so it was more tourney-legal, and it ended up working BETTER. Now it can hit stuff with FORCE, and on the spot too!
And with that, a new breed of bot is born.
