Unfortunately, any more components takes it over the weight limit. In fact, it is claiming it is a MW when I put the smartzone on
everyone is much better than me D:
SnS = obvious ripoff is obvious though :P
SnS = obvious ripoff is obvious though :P
Not as far as I'm aware. I refined a bot I made ages ago. It is a SHW Reier.
I'd hever heard of any of the bots,
This will hopefully be in 2.2 if I sort out the wedge's AGODs on the HS.
Don't mix Door Hinges with the Skirt Hinges, the game likes to AGOD.
Don't mix Door Hinges with the Skirt Hinges, the game likes to AGOD.
Not really. I rarely have AGODed wedges. It's the weapon motors that love to AGOD. >.<
And I haven't seen a bot that intimidating since SCRAMJET. XD
Makes me want to build a 4WD NPC MW SnS.You mean something like this?
Steel 1 = bleh
:FFFUUU i totally forgot Joe made one :P
You can improve the failed entry by using irons and changing the drive to NPC's and Vlads.Wouldn't the irons hit the ground?
You can remove 2 ants on your SHW shell spinner and add more halfsheets.

Before you get at me for the N-12's I used them for a reason.
I used them because of their size and lack of grip.
no, so it's actually stable.
I reworked the extenders slightly, so I have all of that plus its now 174.0.
And another new bot:
Tite 3 I think, 3 ants.
Not in NAR AI, which is what this is for.
On the SHW: I really did not tried them, but Frenzy hammers aren't really a good choice according to 123. You might try the Shrederator shell or simply good ol hammers on a DSL bar. It's probably too slow as well and the armor plow setup isn't convincing. I'll AI it and see how it fares. The plows are stabilisers, and believe me, they are needed. Speed seems fine, any more, and it'd overbalence.
On the MW: Hypno teeth aren't going to do much placed that way.. Can't you manage to get a smaller disc (Edit: PWN BEAT ME TO IT ARGH) and win some KG's for moar killalot drills ? Ok, I'll try a stranger shaped chassis to do so.
On the ant: You should really fill up these 2.5 kgs I'll see what I can do. Any suggestions?
On the BW: It doesn't really looks combat efficient to me :P This team is meant for trying out new designs/weapons. I've never seen a BW TS before.
And a better paintjob.
And a better paintjob.
Agreed, even without seeing it. I can't skin to save my life.
Uneven weight distro plus asymmetrical wheels can't make it drive straight.
verrrry exxxxposed plastic connectors...
Rebuilt the killalot drill SS:

3 ants, perm 80, slimbody drive. Could only get tite 1 though.
I think the top weapon system can be alter slightly by having the beater mount vertically.
It isn't. But the CCIV rules haven't forbidden it yet. :P
No more invincible armour chatter in my showcase.
Why are you using Multi-Extenders? So the razors are close together.
Is this meant to be a mix of a popup and axe, or what? True Popup
I expect better from you? Elaborate
1 too many ants no
Metal Hinge wedge or not? yes
Needs 2 120CM Angled Poly's on Metal Hinges to improve wedge fail idea
Armour? Can't remember
Why are you using Multi-Extenders? So the razors are close together. Oh, seems ok then.
Is this meant to be a mix of a popup and axe, or what? True Popup Poly extender seems to be too long for that
I expect better from you? Elaborate You've made much better bots
1 too many ants no If you say so, i'd use 3 ants.
Metal Hinge wedge or not? yes Oh k.
Needs 2 120CM Angled Poly's on Metal Hinges to improve wedge fail idea It's worth a try.
Armour? Can't remember Well hurry up with the remembering.
A BSG needs 2 ants.
Yeah I'm not liking the long extender either.
I think the ice pick is there to prevent the bot from lying flat on its back and being counted out, 'cause it could maybe start mauler dancing a little bit and move around the arena, is that why it's there?
I'm not removing the pick.
But it looks cool, right? :PThat's debatable. =P
But it looks cool, right? :PThat's debatable. =P
Well...it would look worse if he had used a bar instead of the pick axe.But it looks cool, right? :PThat's debatable. =P
Very.
A LW Side Hammer I made a while back to disprove someone's (Stag's I think) that one cannot be made invertible and good.
Why are the drive wheels angled?
to disprove someone's (Stag's I think) that one cannot be made invertible and good.
Hammer-Killing Hammer:
Ah, that makes sense. What's next on the cards?
If it is rotated the bot can't drive.
I thought he meant rotated horizontally so it points at an angle.
If this bot is geared for effectiveness, cut down your drive. If it is a conceptual bot, then not bad.
What do you suggest I add with the less drive?
DP: Someone tell me something to make.

LW flamer hybrided(that's a word now) with a clamp or side hammer?
And a LW juggler wouldn't?LW flamer hybrided(that's a word now) with a clamp or side hammer?
lolololol that is going to fail horribly
Oh, and i meant large DS teeth, not spike strips.
Side hammer/flamer?
Besides, why are you so sure it'd be no good?
Good point, though both bot types here don't really need to much weight focused on them, apart from maybe the power source problem.Side hammer/flamer?
Besides, why are you so sure it'd be no good?
Weird hybrids are never good in LW class. You don't have the weight to make both weapon systems competitive compared to pure-type robots.
Might be "higher speed" with overkill wheels ;)
Is that big invertibility-killing skirt in the middle for self-righting? Why not just make it invertible?Well *plucks up courage to disagree with clickbeetle* if he made it invertible then the potter wheels would probably be on the floor (i imagine that the front wedges keeps them off the floor when right way up) If it was invertable, when flipped over those wedges would hinder it quite a lot aswell, so making it self rightable is surely a lot better in the long run.
Almost looks like something 123 would build; just needs more chassis protection.
It was a joke, that you should understand...Might be "higher speed" with overkill wheels ;)
No, but more hipoints.

Ah, yes, indeed. Overkill = higher.
Didn't made me laugh though :p
Poly Extenders? They'd work.
Poly Extenders? They'd work.
Whilwe staying under the weight limit?
Isn't Roly Poly a failure ?
Ohwait. It's Roly Poly, it is BOUND to suck :P
Isn't Roly Poly a failure ?
Ohwait. It's Roly Poly, it is BOUND to suck :P
No, it isn't, it can OotA MW's.
I'm guessing you're using Plastic 1 here...I would say shrink the chassis, but you probably can't...22.3kg on either side to free up. Probably not enough for anything decent. I'm somewhat stumped here.
Ummmmm... G.K.? FSS eat sledges for breakfast. You would be better off with many static razors.
Steel 10:ermm:
That looks great.
The wedginess, armor and overall combat efficiency however...
What's going on at the back there?
See? Small JXs are better for MW flippers :PJust no...
Power isn't everything, from my experience, the sacrafice to get large JX'sis just too muchSee? Small JXs are better for MW flippers :PJust no...
No-one said they were better, they are less powerful.
bsg's. that is all.Debateable, I prefer 2 small JXs myself
the stats prefer bsg's, so suck on that flippy boybsg's. that is all.Debateable, I prefer 2 small JXs myself

Yeah, I figured that out thanks :PI don't deny that stats are better, but my 4-bsg flippers get beaten by my small JX flippers almost every time*cough* wedges *cough*
You argument about small JX's is that you don't need large ones, but I'm simply saying, if you can use large ones, use large ones as they have m ore power, therefore more chance of an early win.I do agree, power is a huge advantage, I just think large JXs are too much of a sacrafice
Just trialling whether static weapons are better on a TRFBD:Generally using flails means it can just sit on things and inflict more constant damage.

Tests inconclusive so far, but I can't get the damn thing to work under AI - see AI thread.
Personally, I'd say that was realistic. You could have two motors driving the same shaft if they were rotating in opposite directions. Or is it something I'm missing?
An attempt at something vaguely IRL Realistic. I give you Sleek:

I wasn't meaning to make this, but I somehow did anyway:
Tite 5, 4 ants.
Er...
What were you thinking?
Why did your mind go "I want to make a double dual-perm face spinner"?
It does look insane, like a kinda "Ultimate Chicken" sort of thing, but how compat effective would that actually be?
I see what you mean, and have removed the wedge. In which case, any chance of getting it invertible then?
a picture of a ghost I found in DSL BBEANS AI

I don't remember putting any pictures of ghosts in there. Heck, I don't remember ever HAVING any pictures of ghosts.
...Spooky.

Ah, so the weaponry kinda has to be in the position of an axle between the wheels? Right, hopefully I could build something with that design if I do get it.
It looks a lot like one of Mike's bots...
Also why backlash wheels ?
It looks a lot like one of Mike's bots...
Also why backlash wheels ?
Those are techno wheels....
Hell yeah Thermador wheels!
Pretty interesting, I like it. In particular I like the chassis shape and spikes + wheels at the back.
I'm not a fan of the iron spikes on the sides though, they look a little too long for me, maybe lightning spikes would work as a replacement? (a little lower down on the sides too, since the lightning spikes are wider) That's a good shout, will experiment with that.
The wheels at the front are interesting too, I can't decide whether I like those or not. I think I would switch the back wheels to hypnos too for consistency, but on the other hand the wider back wheels look cool already... I can't decide :S I carefully disguised this, but it's actually 12WD :P
Finally, is it possible to add an extender between the two sets of blades at the front, as an IRL support? I've already reached the Rule of 7 but as IRL's not 100% about combat efficiency I guess I could lose one sawblade off each set and do that
Overall, I think it's a pretty cool build Cheers!
12wd... wat
Also do frequency rammers work with ant blades ? Ant blades are absolutely terrible statwise.
2 YEAR BUMP YAYCareful about bumping your own thread Kappa
I'm getting more into IRL building these days. Here's something I made today.
Tuning Fork was designed for the looks, but has ended up being quite a competent frequency rammer as well. 12-wheel drive.
What's up with the random beater bar on the extender?
But yeah potter's wheels are poop for damage, I would just drop it to 2wd with NPCF + techno and use 3 Perm 80s for more weapons but Perm 80s have terrible HP which wouldn't help the durability at all.
just put a steel extender in there instead
False Blackjack is pretty cool, I like the front grill design a lot, as well as the use of the lightning spikes. Skin is maybe a little dull, but otherwise I like it.
Steel Shark is kinda ridiculous, in a good way. I think the maces on the wheels are unnecessary, but that's really all I don't like about it.
On the flying guillotine bot, would making the pistons point downwards, rather than use the extenders coming from the top and down, make any difference to its ability to lift itself?
-The maces make it actually be able to drive :PUh, how? If it's a weight thing, to drag the wheel down, you could use a large beater bar or something so it looks sleeker. Looks cool though, however the random spam of teeth on the flipper(?) looks weird imo.
Skinning is something I really struggle with, have you got any pointers?I was in the process of writing a tutorial before I went on holiday for a bit, so I'll try and scrape that together into something readable and PM it to you, if that works for you.
-My choice of photo is not the best - that is the bot after it has fired. If the pistons were pointed the other way they would be lifting the chassis up and it would have to start low down. I hope I've explained that alright.Ah yeah I see, didn't think of that.
