Day 8's theme is "Star". I've wanted to make a Nightmare-style VS for a while, so I took the opportunity. Had to do the splash image slightly differently as a result.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Sadly it doesn't actually work properly, it constantly pulls to the left and ends up spinning in circles. It's not as clean-looking as it could be, either, I ran out of time and weight to make the extenderwork look better (though maybe I should drop some of it down from Steel to Ti...)
Looks pretty neat, although how exposed the drive motors are does irk me somewhat. In terms of your turning issue try rotating the wheels before you attach them to the axle. Normally fixes that kind of thing.
Yeah, same. I'll try fixing the wheels, thanks for the suggestion.

Anyway, on to Day 9! The theme was "Precious", so of course it had to be a precious gemstone:

It was a real challenge fitting this inside the LW limit, and it's only got 2 black batts so it probably won't last too long. It takes after my BW Obsidian in that it's designed to counter overheads, by charging them around the arena while whacking away with the axe until (hopefully) the bar falls off. I think a lot of my Botober robots are going to need some visual polish come November.

Day 10's theme is "Flowing". Real life rather got in the way today, but fortunately I already had a bot idea in my head while I was at work, and I was just barely able to get it done:

I need to spend less time BFEing things around and more time working on the skins.

Day 11's theme is "Cruel", which I figured I could build literally anything for. However, it's also National Coming Out Day and I've been feeling kinda bad lately so I sorta... vented slightly.

Yes, this is me coming out to you guys. Not the best way to do it, but hey.

Thanks, man, both of those statements mean a lot. Especially coming from you, who is a really good DSL builder

I'm at a coworker's leaving drinks today, so there may not be a build today. If not, I'll double up on Saturday to make up for it. There won't be a build on Tuesday because of other work commitments so I will definitely be doubling up on Sunday to make up for that.

Very proud of you  :claping

And I dig the angles on the weapon supports there. Simple, but visually impressive.

Beautiful

The robot is also nice. Those colors work unexpectedly well on a robot. I need to get back to Botober.

I really like the colour scheme of the bot, it all mixes very well aesthetically. Cant wait to see the rest of your Botober bots.

It looks sweet, I love the color scheme and I’m a sucker for interesting looking verts, very nice!

Thank you all for the kind words!

Here's the bot that I didn't build yesterday. The theme was "Whale", so I decided to go big... or rather, HUGE.

Has dorsal fins and a giant stabilising tail, and performs about as well as you'd expect a Huge clone to perform.

Day 13's theme was "Guarded", so my idea was for a boxing-themed robot with a steel wedge, that's "guarding" against attacks, waiting to strike the killer blow. It came out a bit less "guard"-ish than I intended...

...and I can't submit it for Deathmatch 3 because of all the 45-degree angle extenders. Looks cool though, right?

Day 14's theme was "Clock". The idea came to me pretty quickly for this one, and I think it came out looking pretty great.

Yes, it's a Tombklone, but it's a 24-karat Tombklone

Day 15's theme was "Weak", and I really didn't know what to build for that for a while. Eventually I settled on an AW flipper with the weakest armour in the game, weakest drive in the game, weakest wheels, fragile flipper panel... and named after a robot I built out of Construx as a kid.

100% certified joke-bot.

Was at a work event yesterday, so I didn't get to build anything. I'll catch up at the weekend but for now I'm a day behind, so here's my Day 16 bot. The theme was "Angular", so here's another remake:

It's slow, but the flipper and wedge seem decent enough.

Okay, so you might be wondering what happened to Botober. Well, to put it bluntly, my mental health happened. I got to Day 17, drew a total blank, and just gave up. Which is why I was reluctant to showcase the bots in the first place, because I knew this would happen...

...but let's look on the bright side! I have 16 brand-new bots, ready to be refined and shoved into tourneys! I've already given Espresso Machine an improved skin and the final place on my Mech Madness 2 roster (but forgot to fix the flamethrower alignment, reeeeeeeeee):

And I'm now proud to announce that a slightly-tuned Red Mist will be my Deathmatch 3 entry! Apologies to those of you hoping for Cluck!

After the success of Tiny Crab and Mighty Crab (and multiple requests), I have finally gotten round to constructing a HW version to form part of my OW3 line-up!

It's an ungraded version of Mighty Crab, featuring a slightly larger chassis, redesigned claws and rear extenders, improved battery life, and of course, a golden crown mounted on a Mag Snapper to act as a srimech.

I'm still paranoid that I'll end up milking these crab bots until they overstay their welcome, but might as well enjoy their popularity while it lasts.

Nerve Agent has been refined (concentrated?), and is ready for combat. Trying out a slightly different splash design as well.

Dunno if you can see but there's a small axle extender across the back of each wheelguard, dunno whether to keep them or not.

It’s just a skin and not meant to function like an actual clock
